This month of April is very beautiful, spring is coming in and the weather is very warm. For us, this coming week is somehow a vacation for us Venezuelans, we commemorate Holy Week or Semana Mayor. Some go to church, but others decide to go to the beach or to the river. That's why I wanted to make a beautiful beach bag.
I went shopping, I started looking at the fabrics until I discovered this beautiful bag, the motif of the fabric resembles what my family and I love the beach and the river, with palm trees and wild birds. After buying it I arrived home, my head was spinning thinking about how to make that beach bag so desired, so I said hands to the needles. I looked for all my tools and went to work. It took me three days to do it, since it is the first time I make a beach bag, I had a lot of difficulty I think the needle I used Singer original No. 11 was not ideal, as at times rolled up the seam, but I arm myself with patience just thinking to go to the beach with my beautiful bag.

One meter of canvas fabric
One meter of lining fabric
Scissors
Thread
Needles
Needles Pins
Measuring tape
Zipper
I started by folding the fabric taking the measurement of 44cm wide x 35cm long. From there I sewed the sides and at the bottom, in the corners I made squares of 5cm x 5cm on each side, cut, then folded and sewed.
To make the handle I re-folded the fabric to measure 60cm wide x 10cm long. Fold the fabric to the inside, sew through and pin the handle to the fabric, sew through.
For the inside, use the lining fabric, which is 60cm long x 44cm wide. For the inside pocket cut a piece of 28cm long x 18cm wide, fold the fabric and stitch, then fold and iron. Fold the 60cmx44cm fabric in half and iron.
As we ironed the two parts of the fabric, when dividing, a dividing line remains. On the 60cm fabric we place the dividing line, we mark down 7cm. There we place the dividing line of the pocket, we pass the seam. Then we fold the 60cm fabric making a rectangle of 30cm, we pass seam on the sides. At the bottom corners I made a 5x5cm square on each side, cut, fold and sew.
For the zipper part cut canvas and lining fabric 40cm wide x 8cm wide. On one side of the zipper place the canvas and on the other side the cosi lining fabric. Turn the fabric over and repeat stitching. After sewing I opened the seam by placing the canvas on one side and the lining on the other side and pinned the seam. I insert the zipper already sewn on the side of the lining and sew through the seam allowance.
I opened the zipper, inserted the lining part, adjusted with pins leaving an 11cm wide opening and sewed the seam. In this part I had a lot of difficulty because when I reached the handle the needle did not want to sew, so with patience I made it. Then I introduced my hand through the 11cm opening to turn the bag right side out.
Hola mis queridos amados, un saludo muy pero muy grande desde el fondo de mi corazón. Muy dichosa de ver que empezamos con buen pie esta semana con sus hermosos trabajos los cuales he visualizado.
Este mes de abril es muy hermoso, entra la primavera un clima muy cálido. Para nosotros, esta semana entrante de alguna manera es de vacaciones para nosotros los venezolanos, conmemoramos la Semana Santa o Semana Mayor. Unos van a la iglesia, pero otros decidimos ir a la playa o al rio. Por eso quise confeccionar un hermoso bolso playero.
Me fui de compras, empecé a ver las telas hasta que descubrí esta hermosura el motivo de la tela se asemeja a lo que tanto a mi y mi familia nos encanta la playa y el rio, con palmeras y aves silvestres. Después de comprarla llegue a mi casa, mi cabeza daba vueltas pensado como hacer ese bolso playero tan deseado, así que dije manos a las agujas. Busque todos mis utensilios y a trabajar. Tarde tres días haciéndolo, ya que es primera vez que hago un bolso playero, tuve mucha dificultad creo que la aguja que utilice Singer original N° 11 no era la ideal, ya que por momentos enrollaba la costura, pero me arme de paciencia solo en pensar salir a la playa con mi hermoso bolso.

Un metro de tela loneta
Un metro de tela de forro
Tijeras
Hilo
Agujas
Alfileres
Cinta métrica
Cremallera
Empecé doblando la tela tomando la medida de 44cm de ancho x 35cm de largo. A partir de ahí cosí los laterales y en la parte inferior, en las esquinas hice cuadrados de 5cm x 5cm en cada lado, corté, luego doblé y cosí.
Para hacer el asa, volví a doblar la tela para que midiera 60 cm de ancho x 10 cm de largo. Dobla la tela hacia el interior, cósela y sujeta el asa a la tela con alfileres.
Para el interior, utilice la tela del forro, que mide 60 cm de largo x 44 cm de ancho. Para el bolsillo interior, corte un trozo de 28 cm de largo x 18 cm de ancho, doble la tela y cósala, después dóblela y plánchela. Dobla la tela de 60x44 por la mitad y plánchala.
Como planchamos las dos partes de la tela, al dividir queda una línea divisoria. En la tela de 60cm colocamos la línea divisoria, marcamos hacia abajo 7cm. Ahí colocamos la línea divisoria del bolsillo, pasamos la costura. Luego doblamos la tela de 60cm haciendo un rectángulo de 30cm, pasamos costura en los laterales. En las esquinas inferiores hice un cuadrado de 5x5cm en cada lado, cortamos, doblamos y cosemos.
Para la parte de la cremallera corta lona y tela de forro de 40cm de ancho x 8cm de ancho. En un lado de la cremallera coloque la lona y en el otro lado la tela de forro cosi. Dale la vuelta a la tela y repite la costura. Después de coser abro la costura colocando la lona por un lado y el forro por el otro y prendo la costura con alfileres. Introduzco la cremallera ya cosida por el lado del forro y coso por el margen de costura.
Abrí la cremallera, introduje la parte del forro, ajusté con alfileres dejando una abertura de 11cm de ancho y cosí la costura. En esta parte tuve mucha dificultad porque al llegar al asa la aguja no quería coser, así que con paciencia lo conseguí.
I am very happy that in spite of my inconveniences I was able to finish my work, which is very comfortable and spacious. I imagine myself very flirtatious with my bag, next week I will go to enjoy the beach and the river.
Estoy muy contenta de que a pesar de mis inconvenientes pude terminar mi trabajo, que es muy cómodo y espacioso. Me imagino muy coqueta con mi bolso, la semana que viene iré a disfrutar de la playa y el río.
