This is a weekly curation showcasing the needlework of our very own HIVEians. Every Monday we get together to share our love and passion for the needle arts using the #needleworkmonday tag. On all other days we use the #needlework tag. We enjoy each other’s creations, ideas, patterns, tips and shortcuts.
We strive to bring to you great quality work filled with tutorials and inspiration. Please help us keep these wonderful needle arts alive and thriving by supporting our creative work and community!

Now, on to our featured projects this week
I always try to see commonalities, looking for aspects or themes that link our posts together. This time there are two, which all the featured posts have - some more of this, some more of the other: home decor and leftovers - let me tell you where I see that in the crafted things.
DIY Paper Mache Pouch by @sarimanok
It's an interesting combination of crafts I would never have imagined - but it works and it's really useful. You can either use papier-mâché to make a crocheted (or knitted or...) item more sturdy - or you could make a crochet cover for an item made from papier-mâché. There's a plethora of things you could do and - to mention my themes - it's both decorative and it's made with leftover paper.
Needlework therapy with scrap fabric to create new fabric designs with English Paper Piecing (EPP) by @marblely
An interesting technique, and she gives a full photo tutorial to show us how it's made. I bet we all had ideas what we could make with these hexagons! From placemats to bags to book covers... Especially since you only need a small piece of fabric for one of them (= leftovers) you could make a lot of items to spruce up your home!
Quarantine could be the perfect time to go back to crochet work ... by @barara-orenya
She immediately tells us about the "going back to crochet" part: she only made one of these mitts, and she shows us why: she wanted to keep her skin off her graphic tablet (Do you know the cute drawings she makes? Go and take a look!)
We often need only one of paired items, especially with mitts. I sometimes wear one in winter on my "mouse hand" because it gets colder than the other hand. And for that, some leftover yarn would be enough.
Fabric Door Wreaths - How To Make It Handmade As A Gift by @mers
You might think it's more of a Christmas thing - but you could make such a wreath with a floral design or with an autumn theme. Perhaps a small one for a key chain? Again - so many uses for this decorative item which, too, can be made from leftovers.
And @mers is right - it's a great gift! Those of us who love to decorate their home will never have enough items for that :)
Thank you for stopping by to view our featured posts for this week. Please stop by their posts and show them some love with a read and an upvote for sharing their handmade creations. To see more needle arts, please check out the #NeedleWorkMonday tag and check back here with @NeedleWorkMonday every Wednesday / Thursday for the weekly Resteems and Curation posts!!
If you are a needlework artist we’d love to have you join us every Monday to share your work and inspire this community to give a craft a try.
On Monday’s, please use the #NeedleWorkMonday tag and on other days, please use the #needlework tag (without the word Monday attached) so we can find each other’s work.
