Blessed evening, family
Take a look at the beauty I created this afternoon. It is for my beloved friend and prayer partner. In fact, she is my partner in many things; we seem to share similar life challenges and often stand in the gap for each other, both in prayers and emotion-wise. You can call her my emergency number 😁
Hardly will she hear that I had broken down without her running to lift me up, and I will always be glad to reciprocate the love and care she has for me. That's a glimpse into our private lives.
Away from that, I was cleaning my working space today, wishing to clear off as many of my WIP, clean up the entire place, and make a new arrangement and order of my belongings when I stumbled upon her fabric.
She gave me the fabric to sew for her some months ago, which I had added to my stack of materials, completely lost for ideas on what to make with it. In order not to keep the fabric lingering around for too long, I decided to go ask her for a suggestion or an idea of what she may want.
And yes, she spelled out how she desires me to sew a peplum blouse for her. Peplum Blouse it is!!!
I can't sew a peplum blouse so plain without any designs; some creative touch is what gives every outfit an outstanding look and beauty; hence, I have some extra thinking to do here.
Is it to embellish with beads or pearls?
Fabric of another color to mix with this, or what can I possibly do?
I stumbled on this zipper I bought for half a dollar and felt that it would give some finishing touches of beauty to this.
If that will be the case, then placing the zipper at the front block will be perfect.
Another problem now is that the zipper is silver while the fabric is gold. Before sewing this, I kept imagining if the two colors would fit in each other.
I asked my brother for suggestions since we were two in the house, and he gave me a strong "no," insisting that the two colors wouldn't make a match. This became more confusion for me.
I started working on the fabric and cut the front block with a lower neckline.
The peplum for the base of the blouse
And the sleeves to go with it.
Then here I had the inner facing cut, doing this in such a manner that the facing will cover a good portion of the front block since I will be adding the zipper there.
Stitching the blouse and interfacing separately before proceeding to turn them over
Then here is a yellow zipper I took from my accessories to add to the blouse. I never liked the idea of the yellow zipper, or would you have preferred that I use it instead?
Here I have turned the necklines with the facings and went ahead to fix in my silver zipper.
Although I did this with the consciousness that if the zipper doesn't fit in well, I will go through the pain of loosening and fixing back the golden zipper instead.
I took the blouse first to my WhatsApp status and got some nice compliments; that said it all. The zipper added a perfect touch.
In between the uncertainty of what to sew or how to get creative with making this blouse, I am pleased with the beauty it had become after all.
My friend can chose to rock her dress with the zipper half opened or with it closed completely.
What do you think of my friend's blouse? She is some miles away and won't be getting this until the weekend.

The blouse is beautiful, I love the color too, I think it is a very versatile design with the zipper in the front and above all very daring if you like to wear necklines that you can regulate, another great job :3
Thanks dearie.
I love the blouse and wish to make something similar for myself.
You should do it for yourself too, sometimes you have to give yourself love
It truly is a beauty. The zipper in front is nice. Well done
Front zip details are always exceptional, this is beautiful Monica, now I'm jealous of your friend.
What a nice relationship. It is beautiful to be able to count on someone like that.
I congratulate you for cultivating such a beautiful friendship.
Thank you so much dear.
