Hello Hive

It is another beautiful day and we are privileged to be alive well and breathing. We really have to be alive first in order to be creative.
If you are not in good mood today I am quite sure that you can predict the outcome of your project even before you start. In essence the outcome of your projects is dependent on so many factors, your mental and physical health, emotions and lots more.
I hope and pray that we would live above every form of challenges to stay happy and creative.

About the current challenge in the community, it is a project it self improvement that really excites me and I must voice out my contentment regarding how the community is helping its members to grow.

In life learning never ends and with technology, numerous skills and knowledge are coming up to help us get better.
In whatever Jobs, career we find ourselves we have to put in our best in order to get the best out of such jobs.

A designer has to present her textiles, designs and outfits well in order to attract the right customer and so is everyone in any kind of field.

And one of the means we can use to present our products well is through photography and editing skills.
And there are alot of application on play store for that.

I never thought about it this way until the challenge came up and I realized how important this is.

Today I have sewn just a simple top here and thought about how to present this better.
Mind you I am using the worst camera ever, talking about my phone Android Camon 12.

If I can do this and get some good pictures, am quite sure that an iphone will give us some better quality.

I wasn't in the best shape to snap some good pictures today and had to employ the help of a friend.
I used an outdoor location.

The weather is cloudy this morning and the light concentration is quite poor. It could have been better with some brighter light.

To get some quality background I borrowed this yellow mat fabric and the color brought out the best in my simple top.

Next i borrowed these flowers to add to the pictures.
Getting the best arrangements for the flowers took awhile.
I didn't know where to place them right to get the best picture.

First I had the top flat on the mat

Next I tucked in the waist line to give it some good shape

Next steps were to be the editing with photo editors but I just realized that my phones is unlikely to to that, unable to install applications and some software issues. I might just have to do sort that for a next blog seeing that we still have the time for one more entry.

The most important lesson has been learnt, our blogs also need the finishing and toppings we give cake to make them lovely and attractive.

Having some of these editing skills will improve the quality of our blogs.
This is a good start for me and I hope to continue improving.

Thank you for stopping by.

I think it was a very good idea to go for the complementary colour as a background, makes it pop out even more! :) (oh and tucking in the waist also made quite a difference)
About the clouds, sometimes I even prefer that set up than bright sunlight, the clouds kind of diffuse the light and the colours come out better...

Oh really.. I wouldn't know which is better but since I have tried pics on a cloudy day, I will watch out for the sun's effect next time and compare the two.

Thanks dear 💖💕

You are most welcome!😊
...I ain't no expert either🫢 but trying is probably best anyway😄

If you're all about showing off your creation, the second photo is wonderful, one part of the backlit image makes the other half look beautifully glossy. I loved this particular photo.

I agree with you, it can be an excellent creative piece, but if we don't try to present it properly with good photos, it may not be appreciated and the result may be overshadowed by poor photos that don't do justice to the piece.

In this sense, this challenge motivates us to take care of the images since it is the letter of presentation of what we do with so much devotion.

My best regards.

LEO Power Up Day - June 15, 2023

I am so excited seeing all of this wonderful effort from our community.

As stated already by a few, you chose the right color for the background. Any colors opposite on the color wheel will help bring out the best in each other. Purple and yellow do this and go well together.

I love that you shaped your top instead of just laying it out straight. That really added some character and dimension to it. The flowers were also a great addition. You did well using what you had.

I understand about the phone and software and things. Continue doing what you can and don’t stress if you can’t get a newer phone or if the apps don’t work. You can just use the built in phone adjustments if they work.

I agree with @kesityu.fashion about the lighting. It’s important that the items are seen clearly but sometimes a dimmer light gives our photos an editorial feel (a softer touch) that you see in magazines. The more you play around with this you’ll get a better feel for how you want to represent your items. Sometimes I like the brightness but other times I like to dim things down just a bit.

A tip I can give you is to crop out some of the extra background that distracts from your project. For instance, in all the photos with the model except for one you did well to only show her and the backdrop. The photo where she is showing the back of the shirt is the only one that’s not cropped. Cropping that left side right up close to her arm would have removed the distraction.

I’m very happy for you that you are already improving and I can tell you are enjoying the experience. Yay!! Thanks for joining in on the challenge ~ 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

The experience is worth it, I saw lots of other pictures especially a beret that that totally blew me away.
Thanks for the tip.

You bet!! 😉

The photos were very beautiful on you @monica- the natural light makes the purple color stand out and adds warmth, you did a nice job placing the flowers, with practice and creativity I think we will improve.

Greetings!
