Hello Needlework family
It has been a pleasant day so far for me, and I am so pleased that I am much healthier and can do my house chores, other tasks at home, and, of course, a little bit of sewing to keep me busy. If you know me well, you would realize that I hate being idle, and the only time I get to rest is when I get intentional about rest and decide to take a break from my work.
Having been around this community for almost 4 years now, you will realize how much I have improved so well in terms of my sewing skills. I have gotten the best support and friends who can relate to my weaknesses, who have stood by me and encouraged me with every stitch and mistake I make. That support has been really helpful, and I would have given up sewing a long time ago if not for the kind and encouraging words.
Along the line I was also equally able to turn my passion into what earns me some money every now and then. I am quite sure that if my sewing had gotten better over the years, nobody would want to sew their clothes with me, let alone pay for my services. As it gets better and better, more people appreciate my skills and even recommend me to their friends.
If I am ever going to make more money with sewing, then I have to practice more. Stay updated with the latest styles in town. Anyone can pick a design from the internet and desire that I help them to recreate it. I must be acquainted with this knowledge; hence, constant sewing and practice are important.
A lot of things drive my creativity; becoming a seamstress, I eventually developed this fabric obsession that may never go away. Upon sighting any fabric from afar, my instincts get to work immediately, and I begin to think about various designs I can make of such fabrics. Every new fabric develops a creative idea within me, and wanting to bring those ideas to life, I would either create something beautiful and perfect or end up with an unfinished work with terrible mistakes. All of these are common with most seamstresses.
Today I wanted to try a shirt design with an asymmetric sleeve, but you have seen all along what has become of the fabric.
I got 2meters of this fabric for $2.5, but guess what I found inside.
The fabric has been chopped off in the middle portion; I wasn't aware of this at the point of purchase. Upon reaching the house, I want to sew a flare dress of this, but that chopped-off part became a serious hindrance after I had cut the lower part of the dress.
I had to keep that part aside and think of how to get creative with it later.
Working around fabric, I decided to sew a blouse.
Cutting the front and back pieces. What can we now add to make it unique? I decided to try a different sleeve method, and this is what I made of the fabric.
I had to keep jumping away from the torn part and ensure that the fabric was easy enough to make the blouse.
Sooner than later, I could learn how to sew ready-to-wear. Have a boutique and probably see a line of clothes for people to come purchase from rather than wait for customers to bring their clothes first before I can sew. That way we can sew different creative designs and hang them around town for fashion enthusiasts to shop from.
It's a brilliant idea but will take a lot of hard work, practice, and dedication to sew what will be appealing to people. This dream and desire make me want to sew/practice more almost all the time. What do you think of the blouse?

Wow, what a difficult thing it was to do with the fabric. Was there no way to complain to the seller about that?
I understand very well what you are saying. I think that I want to make a living making clothes, but I still haven't found my own style. This year I started taking on some small jobs, but the dream is always to make something of my own. I think it is a very personal search and constant practice. I am sure that you will achieve it.
