A beautiful new day to my fellow Seamstress and creative minds in the house. It is a good day to celebrate seamstresses and everything pins and needles, and I bet that not many people are aware of this day. I have heard about world crochet day when the yarn 🧶🧶🧶 families are celebrated, and I feel excited to know that needlework and everything sewing is equally celebrated on this day.

It's a good thing to celebrate our creative minds and showcase our skills, talents, and gifts, and how I wish that this could be a big festival of talent showcase.

My late mom has been my role model in the sewing task. She had desired to learn sewing as a housewife, using needles and skirts to sew our skirts back then. She bought this manual sewing machine here some 26 years ago, and I can tell you that this machine has been very useful ever since. A few days back I had stumbled upon the iron scissors ✂️✂️ she had first bought and how it brought back a lot of memories.

My mom didn't get to learn sewing properly, but one thing she was good at was knitting. She kept knitting our sweaters, socks, and every kind of baby cloth. She sells some of these clothes and uses the money to take care of our home. I learn what being self-sufficient means from her lifestyle.

I am glad that I got to learn sewing even if I didn't pick the knitting skill from my mom. With her machine as my most memorable gift, I have created a lot of beautiful clothes, some for myself and family, some for friends and others in need of clothes as a cover. I have sewn school uniforms for needy children for free and have gladly done a lot of free sewing jobs for people.

It is my pleasure to create all this beauty, and hopefully someday I could make a career out of sewing, but even if that doesn't happen, my sewing skills are serving a purpose for a lot of people.

I hope that more girls and women will adopt this culture to learn some creative skills, such as sewing, crocheting, baking, or any of such activities that make life fun and pleasurable for us.
