RE: Knitting a vintage collar fueled by sunshine - wip challenge

in NeedleWorkMonday3 years ago

Uhhh blushing over your lovely comment (but beware, my skill in making "nice" photos is high, so if we ever meet in person, don't be disillusioned)
and a big yes to the "its too complicated to spark joy" stage. I have this fairly often :-DDDD Now I somehow need to sew in these million yarnends. I already ponder how I can bribe myself to do it 🤔
But understanding how a collar is knitted it a real plus, I am glad I tried it finally.
And I am sure your doll project will evolve… often the beginning is the hardest, and you are already come far with the body 🥰
Sending hugs!

her website is here. She loved it - I was sharing your blog post on your controversial art installation. I was showing her my doll project, then mentioned yours, then she shared her sewing-seaweed project... Then a friend sent me this clip about a documentary where this man spends 7 yrs making a fabric from nettles and a dress from this fabric. .... Aaahhh, such blessings of interweaving! It was fabulous to get your message here, as ever @neumannsalva - I treasure your words, as I feel a biiiiiiig shift in life and work now - tons of alchemy and a sense of changing season of life - it is jsut perfect having connection via our work and art. I was sharing your Wordpress blog with a beautiful artist friend yesterday - your doll project -

I read you comments some days ago, but these ugly headaches are not helpful in writing, so sorry I only answer now. Your friends website is beautiful and I love her paintings (she has all the qualities I love, but cannot make myself, the light and airiness, a open and hopeful quality) and sewing with seaweed- wow!!!! I followed her on Instagram (are you there too?)
And with the nettle dress: I instantly thought of the fairy of the wild swans from Anderson which is so wonderful and sad at the same time.
And yes sometimes there is a row of „coincidences“ which transform into a bigger pattern, I think we are primed in such moments to be more aware of certain topics/emotions etc. and so are able to see the connections. Looking forward to se you progress and change <3
