Greetings to you all
Happy blessed day to you all my beloved friends and family in this amazing community, how are you all doing today, I hope everything goes perfectly fine with you all, today I will be sharing with you all the steps I carried in making an envelope mini pouch for myself using my leftover fabric.
It has been a long time since I started eyeing this envelope hand pouch, I saw one of my choir members at the church on Sunday wearing a complete set of dresses to Church because she didn't attend choir practice and rehearsal so she used the same fabric and sew this envelope hand pouch, it was so beautiful with her dress, she her phone and other things inside, I was looking at it but I finally walked close to her and check it very well because I have not sewed it before, so I decided to give a try to it because my mom always said that there's no harm in trying, so I was searching for a leftover fabric then I sew this leftover fabric luckily I found it with this satin material so I took them out for proper use.
Let's get started.
I forgot I don't have a gum stair, well that wouldn't stop me from working, I folded the fabric by two and measured out 12 by 8 then I cut it out.
I now placed the fabric on the satin and cut it out.
After cutting them out I now placed the right side of the lining on the right side of the fabric then I marked the wrong side of the hem for sewing.
After marking I then sew them and keep a little space so that it will be easier for me to turn the right side out after sewing everything.
So I went ahead and folded it by two after sewing, I now turned to the other hem and marked it 2 inches in length then I made a curve to it for the front cover part then 8 cut it out.
After making a curve to it I now marked from the first point of 2 inches down to another 2 inches and gave a notch to it.
After that, I folded the fabric from the first down hem that was sewed, I folded it to the notch 2 inches point then I folded the lining too.
I now pin it down then I went and sew it round to the hem properly.
So I gave a notch round so it would be easier to iron, and then I turned out the right side of it.
After turning I went and ironed it very well then I went and double-stitched the upper cover part and ironed it again.
After finishing everything I now opened the button point and fixed the button as the finished work.
Here is the outcome of my envelope pouch
Wow, it came out so nicely, that my neighbors came back and sewed it, they liked it so much that they said they brought me material for it, I know what they can do, and I believed when I went out with it I would have more customers. Hope I tried for the first attempt.
