Hello Needleworkers.
Happy New Week and Happy New Month to all of my beautiful and handsome colleagues in the @needleworkmonday community, how was your weekend and how are you all doing today, I'm sure you all are doing very well, I want to use this great and opportunity to wish you all a happy Merry Christmas, may this month favor us and may all our imaginations come to reality in Jesus name Amen🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍🙋🙋🙋
Today I will be sharing with you all how I cut and sewed this pencil white skirt for my customer with a side cargo pocket, which is their Association uniform and it is my first attempt at trying a cargo pocket.
I was so excited to receive a call from this long-time customer on Thursday telling me that she's coming with a white material to make her a shirt pencil shirt with two sides cargo pocket to use on Saturday for their association escort day, she always likes urgent work, she called on Thursday and brought the material on Friday afternoon bypassed 12, she is one of the people that believe that sewing work is very easy like is something we just cut and join, we know there are two types of customer, the real customer, and the real custrouble😂😂😂😂 this one gave me a headache, nevertheless.
She came late with the white material telling me to cut it quickly and join that it was not hard work.
I accepted that and I started working immediately, I folded the material in two, started with the front, and took the full measurement, and I used 2 inches for the down hem turning bending, I divided the waist measurement by four, I draft it down, I also divided the hip measurement by four and I draft it down too, after taking down all the necessary measurements I now put 2.5 sewing allowance and cut it out.
After cutting out the front side I folded the remaining material in two, placed the front on it added 2 inches for the zipper allowance, and cut it out.
I then went and ironed them properly placed them on the lining and cut them out.
And I went and sewed them with the lining and firstly turned out the down hem and the body of the skirt properly.
So now I went and ironed them with the lining and held a dart on the two sides of the skirt.
After that, she brought her phone and showed me the type of pocket she wanted which was a sacking pocket I now cut them out and ironed them very well.
After joining the skirt and fixing the side pocket she said she didn't need the sacking pocked again and that I should give her the cargo pocket the big one, well Customers are always right I loosed the whole body of the skirt and cut out the cargo pocket and fixed, then I cut out the waistband.
After sewing down the waistband I measured the slit length and the zipper length then I closed the center part and put it in the zip then I went and ironed it again for the finished work.
Here is the outcome of the skirt.
The outcome is very nice despite the stress of the cargo side pocket because it's my first time trying it but it came out nice, my troublesome customer likes the outcome, and hope I tried.
Thanks so much for reading through.
You did a wonderful job, the pockets give it a striking touch.
Thank you so much
❤️💖
The pockets came out looking really lovely and the pattern of the skirt is just outstandingly different; judging from the material you used.
