Good day everyone. This is my first time posting in the needleworkmonday community. I do hope you enjoy reading through my post.
So as a fashion designer that I am, I decided to make this trending dress with this beautiful Ankara material. It's very simple and easy to make. The material was actually gifted to me by my first daughter who just got married,and I couldn't help but be excited. Another wedding is coming up in the family,my niece's wedding and so I decided to make this trending dress to my niece's wedding.
Let's go through the processes, shall we..,
MATERIALS NEEDED
The materials we will be needing to make this dress includes;
- Three yards of Ankara fabric
- One yard of bridal satin dull face
- Thread
PROCEDURES
STEP ONE:
I started by folding a part of the fabric into two making sure the width is my hip measurement divided by 4.. then I chalked on the fabric all my measurements starting from my shoulder to my bust, waist, hips and the full length of the gown. When I was done, I cut it all out and this was what i got for the back and the front peices
STEP TWO: After that, I took the front peice and separated it into two part by taking out three inches from its center.
STEP THREE
Take the front peice and the back peice and join the shoulder to shoulder like this
STEP FOUR
Now, I take my dull face bridal satin and cut it into a long strip with width 6 inches then fold it with my sewing machine in such a way that it becomes three inches to replace the three inches I removed from the front.
STEP FIVE
After doing all that the next thing is to take the black long strip and attach it to the front, seeing on it by half an inch and then shaping the clothe to your measurement. It should look like this when you are done
It is beautiful, elegant, and lovely. It looks great. Thank you for sharing step by step how you made this dress. Keep it up!
