Throwback Wednesday | Winter is coming (!!)

in NeedleWorkMonday5 years ago (edited)

Hello Needleworkers from all over the world!

#ThrowbackWednesday again!!!

And for today I present you some of my past crochet creations, which they have been exhibited in 2012 and went all around the world, from Greece to America!

So, TODAY'S Post is a tribute to WINTER!!! HEheh! Say hello to the mini scarves, that embrace the neck! And I am preparing for winter...ehh (not yet, but sure for autumn!!)

Number 1 Diamond shape

A pretty simple mini scarf with 2 kind of stitches, puff stitch and the classic double crochet stitch in a diamond shape. Also, the flower is just a long crochet chain and a puff stitch in the centre! It was a simple pattern I draw and I don't know why it was ordered multiple times!

Number 2 Contrasting colors

This scarf is a bit longer and it has only double crochet, and chain with a slip stich in the middle of the previous chain! Simple pattern and you can play with contrasting colors!

Number 3 Crocodile mini scarf

This is my favourite stitch because it reminds me not only crocodile, but also many ancient motifs and I was really glad that many clients ordered me this!

Number 4 Braid scarf

I don't know exactly why I did this, It is just rows with double crochet (or single if you are in UK, I think). But they saw it and they bought it, so who knows?? I had fun making that after all!!

Number 5 Twist twist twist

I really like the twisting style of this mini, elegant scaaarf (I don't know how to say this!) and it had been bought by a primary teacher !!

Number 6 My adorable castle!!!

I liked it a lot and I think I might make one for me again for this winter! It's simple with just double crochet and with a few embelishments outside !

It’s funny you shared these Winter scarves because last week I just started looking at what styles I wanted to do for this year! I really like that braided scarf! I have never did a crocodile stitch but have seen many projects with it.

Nice archived work! Thanks for sharing :)

Your welcome! Well, I am thinking of my ongoing projects, of my future ones and my UFOs (Unfinished objects) and aaahhh, I don't know where to start from! Lol!

They are all so pretty! Wow.. what exhibition was this? I have never seen a crochet exhibition before. I like the diamond one and the twist one that looks like a tail :)

In 2012 I made my first crochet exhibition with my grandmother. I had this idea, because my grandma taught me how to crochet with a little flower, then we, me and my grandma, crocheted together a doily, and then after many 2D objects, I went to 3D. In order to show to the public that communication can be achieved through generations by sharing common interests, I made this team exhibition in my birth town, Ioannina, Greece, in the main cultural centre. My grandma is now 92 and she is still active by doing all her houseworks by herself! I really want to look like her at my 90s if I ever reach this age!!
