Hello needleworkers from all over the world!!!
my Needleworkmonday's post about my approach to Sahtouris' poem is appeared in the spotlight of this week!!!Today it's #throwbackwednesday again and I am also very glad that
Such an honour for me! Thank you very much @needleworkmonday !!
So, tonight I will make a confession after I finish this post !!
But first let me tell you about this post and my archival photos... When I was 14 years old my mother taught me how to knit and she gave me many yards to practice by knitting a scarf!!!!
So, as you can see here, I started making a purple scarf and it is approximately 2.5 meters long! LOL!!
And I also made a winter hat of the same colour! And I had been wearing it for about 4 years until I graduated lyceum and entered university.
Then, I made this pink scarf for my undergraduate studies and I had been wearing it for several years!!
And when my sister, Alexandra, wanted a scarf too, I made her one with a colored yarn!
And when my other sister, Athina, wanted a scarf too, I also made her one with a colored yarn!
And when I met my husband, I also made him a scarf with a colored yarn too!
So, if you saw all these scarves, you may understand what my confession will be....
"The only knitting items I have only sewed are those scarves!!!"
And I am not kidding, because when I learnt knitting I was studying many hours and then I entered the university and before I start knitting again, I met crochet...!!!! And for many years crochet took my soul! And after many years I met sewing and now I am in a period that I am involved in sewing, crocheting, and embroidery and I found that new way to express my feelings and my approach to art...
So, when I am seeing knitting posts like this this written by @muscara or written by @irenenavarroart I only admire!
And I only admire and I don't know if someday I take my long needles and knit something or if I keep on looking!
We will see....! Thanks for stopping by my posts and upvoting! It means a lot!! If you liked that post too, send me your comments and show me your love!!
5% of this rewards' post will be transferred automatically to @needleworkmonday for support!!
Knitting with two needles is exciting, I learned about knitting on two needles when I was about ten years old, an older sister taught me just the basics and then I learned by myself, but in my country there is never winter, it is almost always hot and magazines that I got only had patterns for knitted garments that give a lot of heat, that discouraged me for a long time, however I made hats and baby clothes, I met crochet when I was an adult and I was passionate about knitting amigurumis because they are not clothes that give heat lol
I hope now you have time to learn more things with two needles, I think it's very nice that you made a scarf when you met your husband, I think that's classic and very romantic
It's true about the Heating of needles. In Greece it depends on the location. Here in Naousa Winter starts in November and the cold is here till April, so you have plenty of time for making knitting garments. I will think about knitting, maybe in this Winter... :)
