My warm greetings to the people of this community. I hope you all are doing great and enjoying good mental health. The weather is super super cold these days. Even I skipped my university because of cold. And thought I should not waste my time and crochet something instead. Penguins are extraordinary birds perfectly suited to survive in some of the coldest places on Earth. In the icy wilderness of Antarctica, where temperatures can be very very cold that a person can die in no time. Penguins rely on their thick layers of feathers and fat to stay warm. They huddle together in large groups, taking turns in the center to shield one another from the freezing wind—a heartwarming display of teamwork and care. This weather only reminds me of them and telling me to honour them for surviving in such cold weather.
Whenever I see penguins in T.V I always find them very cute and lovely. The most beautiful thing about them is their bond with their mates. They always are together which reminds me of my friends because in this cold weather in order to warm ourselves we always stick together to keep ourselves a bit warm.
Their diet consists mainly of fish, squid, and marine animals. Penguins are also known for their remarkable parenting skills. For example, Emperor Penguin fathers incubate their eggs on their feet under a warm fold of skin for about two months, while the mothers hunt for food. That was new to me while I was reading about them. There are many different species of penguins and although they have evolved greatly. They have thick hair ,fatty layers to survive the extreme weathers. But they are greatly threatened due to overfishing,climate change and habitat destruction. I remember from the cartoons we saw in childhood and everyone told us that these are endangered species and they might extent in near future. But they are still there and I hope they don't extent.
Now let's talk about the process I used to make this. I used yarn, scissors ✂️, tapestry needle 🪡, and crochet hook 🪝 as the material. Then I made the head part first. There was alot of color changing that was difficult for me but the tutorial was very detailed and explained well so I was able to make the head part. The body was easy just doing sc for 9 rows. And then I stuffed it and closed it. Then I made the little scarf for it. I don't know if it is scarf or not but that was very cute.
I added the bunny ears on the head that made it even more cute.
That was all about the process and penguins. And this is tribute to them for surving In such harsh conditions.
I hope to see them with my own eyes one day.
