Hello!!How you all are doing. I hope you are doing good and enjoying mental health. I am posting after a long time a needleworkmonday on Monday. Probably because Mondays are always very busy for me and I cannot find time to write posts. But this time I have time so I thought why not writing a post. So winters are extreme this time. And my sister she always have cold feets. So I thought I should crochet something for her feets. So I crochet socks for her.
By now you guys should know that most of my things I crochet are for my sister. She actually have cold feet problem and every winters she suffers alot. She was constantly asking me to make something for her. First she asked me to crochet a beenie and I have shared before the tragedy of bennie yarn. So I felt sorry that I could not make a bennie for her. So I used yarn of my own and decided to crochet socks. I went through so many tutorials until I found this one I used for the socks.
As I was crocheting the third or second step was to crochet heel part. I find it difficult and made it 3 4 times. Bacause I was doing it wrong and every time I end the heel socks get shorter. Then I followed the pattern with great care and figured out that I was wrong. So I opened it and corrected my mistake. Then I made the middle part. It was easy it follows the bennie pattern I.e making a slip st in back loop only. This way the thing you crochet is always very stretchy. And I made 20 rows according to the size of feet you can change it accordingly. After that I made the other heel. Which I made only in one try bacause I learnt from my past mistake. After that I closed it with needle. Actually I used needle to close one sock and then a hook 🪝 to close other one. Results were same but I find closing with needle more easy.
The two socks were complete. And it was time for embroidery part. The pattern I followed she only did a single crochet at the top as borderline. I thought I should make it in a fancy way. By now I atleast know how to make shell edging. So I decided to make shell edging using white yarn. I made shells at the end by following the pattern of making 6 dc in one st and then doing a slip st in the next one. When I was completed with edging it was time for bow. This bow design is very in these days. It was my first time doing surface crochet. I made one bow using slip st. It was not (I would say) perfect. But the second one was. I completed the bows and asked my sister to try them on so that if there is some issue I can fix it right there. She tried them on and they were perfect. Here are some final pictures.
I will post these on my official insta page.
