Hace unos días atrás recibí la invitación para participar en un homenaje que se le realizaría a Frida Kahlo en un café muy especial llamado "Café de Frida", allí comparti junto a otras artesanas una experiencia realmente hermosa
A few days ago I received the invitation to participate in a tribute to Frida Kahlo in a very special cafe called "Café de Frida", there I shared a really beautiful experience with other artisans

Para ello decidí participar con una obra tridimensional: una muñeca de trapo realizada con retazos de tela en reuso, fieltro, estambre, hilos y relleno de algodón.
For this, I decided to participate with a three-dimensional work: a rag doll made with scraps of reused fabric, felt, yarn, threads and cotton stuffing.
Esta artesanía quise Enfocarla desde la empatía y la sororidad manifiesta hacia Frida Kahlo como mujer, una interacción espiritual entre ella y yo al coserla, al imaginarla... En ese proceso introspectivo de ser mujer nació entre mis manos: Frida Kahlo "Desde mis heridas"
I wanted to approach this craft from empathy and the sorority manifested towards Frida Kahlo as a woman, a spiritual interaction between her and me when sewing her, imagining her... In that introspective process of being a woman, Frida Kahlo was born in my hands "From my wounds"
Pude dibujar en hilo parte de las heridas sufridas y entre la trama y la Urdimbre de cada retazo está la huella del sufrimiento de está gran artista quien supo a través de los colores, del dibujo y del reflejo interpersonal salir adelante de las viscisitudes y el dolor.
I was able to draw in thread part of the wounds suffered and between the weft and the warp of each piece is the trace of the suffering of this great artist who knew through colors, drawing and interpersonal reflection to get ahead of the vicissitudes and pain.
Esta obra posee su gran herida en la espalda, en su bajo vientre,en la pierna y además pude realizarle sus botas rojas y en el hecho de sentirla en mis manos su pierna derecha más corta que la izquierda y de allí mi pieza artesanal posee un tacón más alto que el otro...
This work has its large wound on the back, on its lower abdomen, on the leg and I was also able to make its red boots and in the fact of feeling it in my hands its right leg is shorter than the left and from there my handcrafted piece has a heel higher than the other...

Frida Kahlo is such an important female artist and you did so well in creating an artwork of her. I especially love the contrast between the vibrant colors and the hidden „scars“ on your doll. You are showing the audience not only the beauty of Frida Kahlos work and life, but also her hardships.
