Mini Pouch for the Cutie Little Baby
And for last week's WIP, let me present to you this mini pouch for our cutie little neighbor. She lives just a few doors away from us but she's always all smiles whenever people pass by. We often see her by the door, maybe crawling her way out of their house, she's just a friendly little thing! So adorable.
I loved how the finished product looked like. My little one asked if the pouch was for her baby doll Anita "Annie" the Paper doll but this pouch is way too big for that doll. That's just her way of saying she also wants one. Well, if she still remembers to ask me one more time about this pouch, I will have to make another for her.
The Process

This starts with double stitches around 26 chains. I won't be very specific with the number of stitches on the other rows because I honestly forgot to take note of them. I got a little bit too excited to complete the project. I can't wait to hand it to the baby.
Then after a row of double crochets, I then made puff stitches on alternate stitches. So puff stitch (4dcs in one puff stitch) skip 1 stitch until the end of the row. So that was just that until the end of the entire process. I think I made some 10 or 11 rows of puff stitches.

I stitched 2 dcs, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, then 2dcs, chain 1, skip 1 stitch until the end of the round. This makes the holes where I'll insert the drawstring.
For the handle, I thought I'd make a long one so if her mom decides to wear it for her, it would still fit her. They can tie it to fit her too. Nevertheless, she can use this tiny little pouch until she's a little kid. The sling is made of double crochets. I think I made around 400 double crochets. Too repetitive, I know. But I'm not really sure of the actual number, I did not re-count. LOL
Handmade Gifts are the Best

Giving handmade gifts not only gives a positive feeling for the receiver, but it also feels great for the giver. Generally, I love giving handmade gifts because I love the entire process. And I love it, even more, when I make the person smile. The little baby's sweet, sweet smile was always in my mind while I was making this mini pouch. That's also the reason why I can't say no to my daughter's every crochet request. My kiddo wanted to be part of the gift-giving so, a quick photo op before we send our gift.
