You can create almost anything with the help of crochet. The easiest project is the coaster. It can cost anything from a dollar to ten dollars in my country. So, if you can make one yourself, you will save money and be proud that you have made your stuff. You can even showcase it on a talent page and maybe get orders for more.
Masks are out of fashion now. Well, almost. Many do not wear masks anymore. It would be better to wear a mask in crowded places though. I had tried to make one and it was okayish but when I tried putting it on, I knew it was a flop because I couldn't breathe properly. A woolen mask is not a good idea. Only cotton masks are healthier. The N95 ones are produced and sold by medical shops which is also good.
Another easy project one can do is the shawl or scarf. Just start with a few chains and then continue the rows with half double crochet till the desired length is reached.
I have tried knitting like trying the knit stitch and the purl stitch but it kind of seems tedious to me and I somehow prefer to crochet instead. I watched a video where a person says that beginners should try bamboo knitting needles so that the stitches are easier. I am yet to buy those. It is costly and I may not end up doing it, so I did not want to waste money on the needles. I do have the plastic version. I hope I get the inspiration to knit, one day.
Have you tried the sock slipper? Recently, I watched a video of crocheting the sock. It was easy to understand the instructions and complete it. Any yarn can be used and the length and width can be adjusted according to the size of the wearer.

The yarn used for this project is usually chenille yarn which is rather costly. So, if you want, you can practice making it with low-cost yarn and then go on to do it with velvet yarn and such. Bulky yarn is also a good idea for this project because you would not have to strain so much and also it would warm the feet especially if you are living in a cold area or want to gift to an older person.
Crochet projects are comparatively easier than knitting ones according to my opinion. Those who knit easily may think otherwise. Coasters and other such smaller items can be crocheted easily. Also, handmade crochet projects are a great gift idea. Valentine's Day is around the corner. So, try making such handmade projects and gift them to your loved ones rather than spending a lot of money on fancy stuff that just rips you off money.
