Happy strawberry🍓

Hello NeedleWorkMonday people! A week ago I finished my last crochet work, since then I haven't made anything new, I remembered that last week my friend gave me a nice card inspired in an anime I like very much called “Nana”.

I loved her gift since I love this anime, so I decided to give her a gift too, I am one of those people who think that everything should be mutual, if she made an effort to make me a nice detail with love, I should do it too!

I wanted to make a strawberry kitty, but I didn't know very well how to make the idea I had in my mind, I didn't find any pattern or tutorial on Pinterest, remembering how I made my last amigurumi (cow) I started to crochet trusting in the process.

I followed this pattern, I made 2 more rounds (7sc,inc - 24sc) staying as follows:

R2- 1sc,inc
R3- 2sc,inc
R4- 3sc,inc
R5- 4sc,inc
R6- 5sc,inc
R7- 6sc, inc
R8- 7sc, inc
R9-10-11- sc
R12- 2sc, dec
R13- 1sc, dec

Initially I wanted to do it with red yarn, I confess that I don't like knitting with it, because when I go to go backwards it gets stuck and I don't like the little threads that stick out, but the touch is quite soft and I think that for amigurumis it's great👍.

After a few stumbles I started to crochet normal, I went adding the white yarn in round 6, but quickly realized it wasn't going to work, so it was my turn to back off, but the yarn got stuck, after several attempts I got mad and just put it aside, took some mercerized cotton and started again.

As this yarn is of a thinner thickness the strawberry was going to be smaller, so I had to enlarge it a little, although it was not very noticeable, I added the white yarn again, now of the same thickness as the new yarn and made 7 sc, I kept it until round 9 where I made 2 in each corner to start making the ears, then in round 11 I made 1 in each corner.

Just like the first attempt, I skipped the little legs, but I didn't want to redo it, so I left it as it was. I closed and made the leaves with a 4sc mr, in each stitch I made 3 chain with a slip stitch and double crochet.

I used brown yarn for the face and made a few chain so my friend could use it as a keychain, what do you think? If you can give me advice I would appreciate it.
