During one of my trips to my parents, I bought a backpack made of natural fabric. A very original thing. But the backpack had handles in the form of a bundle.
Such handles are very uncomfortable for the shoulders. Therefore, I decided to remove them and knit others.
I have used two types of cotton yarns and I like the result.
To make these handles comfortable, I decided to sew on the fabric from the inside of them.
The fabric has made the handles a little thicker, so they do not twist and hold their shape well.
It worked very well: the backpack is now more comfortable. So when my friend gave me another backpack (I love backpacks more than bags), I immediately thought about my old backpack.
The fact is that the handles of this backpack are woven and very thin. They twist, crumple, and painfully cut into the shoulders if the backpack is heavy. Therefore, I decided to do the same: sew a dense fabric on the inside of the handles.
I folded the fabric several times and got the desired thickness.
Now I have some very comfortable backpacks that I love to use!

Both backpacks are lovely and I too love them more than bags. So much more practical and roomy. The new crochet straps you made are a good idea especially with the fabric for reinforcement, I am sure the old thin ones are not very comfortable. Besides your newly made straps are much securer and will not rip <3
That's a great idea! I bought a small backpack a couple of years ago, specifically for taking to a local amusement park, and the thin straps are extremely uncomfortable. Maybe I can use your idea and improve them.
