The result of my torment :)))

Good Monday to all our creative community!!! I hope this week has been productive for you and that you are doing well!
Finally, I’m ready to show you the result of my long torment with knitting a lilac sweater.

I tried to remember exactly when I started this work and couldn’t. The only thing I'm sure of is that it was much more than a year ago. I ended my last post about this sweater with another redo of the sleeve. I don’t even remember how many times I unraveled the knitted sleeve and started knitting again. And finally, I was satisfied with the result.

Working on the second sleeve took very little time since I already had the image of the first one before my eyes.

I was so glad that finally!!! finally!!! I finished this stage of knitting a sweater because I forgot to take a photo. The next stage is not difficult at all and took very little time compared to how much it took me to complete all the previous stages. My task was to knit the neckline.

And in fact, the last stage of knitting is working with the front shelves. Here I first decided to use a 1x1 elastic band, but then I abandoned it because the front jumped up a lot and I unraveled the fabric (I’m already a professional at unraveling knitting :))) I ended up using the same pattern as on the edges of the sleeves and shoulders.

It turned out quite harmoniously. And the very last thing is sewing on buttons.

For knitted fabric, I always add small buttons on the reverse side. This is much neater and more reliable.

And here is the result of all my efforts over many months of disappointment, annoyance, anger and a bunch of other very diverse emotions towards this jacket 😁😁😁🙈

Was this jacket worth the experience? In my opinion yes!
Firstly, this is an amazing natural yarn, pleasant to the touch and beautiful color. It was worth fighting for.
Secondly, I end up with attractive new clothes.
In others, I developed persistence, perseverance and determination.
And fourthly, I avoided feeling annoyed with myself for giving up and not completing the project. So I always try to finish craft projects even though they may take many months to complete. 😀
(all photos are taken by me)

Take care of yourself and be healthy!!!
