Hello all dear friends of Hive, I hope you are doing well. Today I want to show you how I made a backpack, and well, it is not just any backpack, for me it is special because I made it with the intention of giving it to my husband, because it turns out that the bag he had been using was getting damaged and he needed a new one. Without further ado, join me in the step by step of this creative process. The first thing as always is to mention to you which materials I used.
Materials:
- Denim fabric (half a meter).
- Lining fabric (half a meter)
- 2 zippers (one of 60cm and the other of 30cm)
- Rope (half a meter)
- Bias (half a meter)
- 2 plastic rings
- Thread
- Scissors
- Pins
- White pencil
- White paint
Now that the materials are clear, let's start with the elaboration:
The first thing I did in this creative process was to place the patterns on the fabrics, both in the jean and the lining to cut all the pieces (the patterns I used were patterns that my sister gave me), then I began to sew the jean fabric with the lining, after having glued all the lining with all the fabric I began to glue the pocket on the front with its respective closure.
Then on the back side, specifically on the bottom on each side I sewed some triangles that I made with the same jean fabric, which has the function of being the support to glue the drawstring and the rings, which serve to hold the bag, the next thing I did was to join the two main parts of the bag, the front and the back with a strip of bottom or floor of the bag, then at the top I placed the zipper.
Although I had already made a small bag for my niece, you can see it here the process of creating this bag for my partner was more laborious, and I needed the guidance of my sister, who was watching my work to not make a mistake that I would regret.
Now, to finish the sewing part, I sewed the bias binding on the back of the bag to all the seams, which is used to protect the seams and reinforce them.
The last thing I did was to draw and paint the logo of the New York Yankees Baseball team, because as I mentioned before, the bag is a gift for my husband, and paint this logo would be special for him because he loves sports and especially baseball is his favorite sport and this Yankees team is his favorite team in the baseball league in the United States.

Realizando un bolso para mi esposo
Hola a todos queridos amigos de Hive, espero se encuentren muy bien. Hoy les deseo mostrar cómo realicé un morral también conocido como mochila, y pues, no es un morral cualquiera, para mi es especial porque lo hice con la intención de regalárselo a mi esposo, porque resulta que el bolso que venía usando ya se estaba dañando y necesitaba uno nuevo. Sin más preámbulo, acompañenme en el paso a paso de este proceso creativo. Lo primero como siempre es mencionarles cuales han sido los materiales que usé.
Materiales:
- Tela de jean (medio metro)
- Tela de forro (medio metro)
- 2 cierres (uno de 60cm y el otro de 30cm)
- Reata (medio metro)
- Sesgo (medio metro)
- 2 argollas de plástico
- Hilo
- Tijeras
- Alfileres
- Lápiz de color blanco
- Pintura blanca
Ya con los materiales claros , vamos con la elaboración:
Lo primero que realicé en este proceso creativo fue colocar los patrones sobre las telas, tanto en la de jean como en la de forro para poder cortar todas las piezas (los patrones que utilicé han sido unos patrones que me facilitó mi hermana), luego comencé a coser la tela de jean con el forro, después de haber pegado todo el forro con toda la tela comencé a pegar el bolsillo en la parte delantera con su respectivo cierre.
Luego por la parte de atrás específicamente en la parte de abajo por cada lado proseguí a coserle unos triángulos que los elabore con la misma tela de jean, que tiene la función de ser el soporte para pegar la reata y las argollas, que sirven para sostener el bolso, lo siguiente que realicé fue unir las dos partes principales del bolso, la parte delantera y la trasera con una tira de fondo o piso del bolso, luego en la parte de arriba le coloqué el cierre.
Aunque ya había hecho un pequeño bolso para mi sobrina, pueden mirarlo aquí el proceso de crear este bolso para mi pareja fue más laborioso, y necesité la guía de mi hermana, que estuvo observando mi trabajo para no cometer un error que fuera a lamentar.
Ahora bien, para finalizar la parte de la costura, por el revés del bolso a todas las costuras le cosí el sesgo que sirve para poder proteger las costuras y reforzarlas.
Lo último que realicé fue dibujar y pintar el logo del equipo de Baseball Yankees de New York, ya que como les mencione anteriormente, el bolso es un regalo para mi esposo, y pintarle este logo sería especial para él porque le encantan los deportes y en especial el béisbol es su deporte favorito y este equipo de los Yankees es su equipo favorito de la liga de béisbol de estados unidos.
