My WIP; Crochet Bohemian Skirt

Hello Needleworkers! I hope you are in the pink of health and your needleworks be great!

what's on your WIP?

Mine is this crochet Bohemian skirt which I am trying to finish before our year- end party on 18th of December on which the theme was bohemian and the organizer said that there were prizes for the best dressed people that night.

I don't hope to be the best dressed, I suck at fashion and I don't have any fashion sense (which is why I was glad I had to wear uniform for five days a week) but I do hope that the judge would be attentive to details and effort of us who attends and dress up.

The day the theme was declared, I saw my co workers posted looking for bohemian attires and out of curiosity, I googled it, I saw women on crop tops and long flowing skirts, some in plain and some in pattern printed clothes. Not long, I searched for bohemian crochet clothes for women and found them very interesting. I then had a few ideas in mind but I am not sure if they are bohemian attires and so I held my thought.

The last time I posted in this community, I made a post about the skirt I made for my daughter; I showed my co worker that skirt and said it could pass as a bohemian style. At that moment, I regretted why I made it too small for me but, I was thinking I still had lots of time to spare to make one before the party.

I'm honestly not sure if this could pass as a boho style.

I planned on making the same style of skirt I made last time but could it pass as a boho style? If you had any idea, please tell me so I would not be wasting time for it.

So, about my WIP

I had several attempts on making a piece with this thread, it was a 200g of 4ply gradient polyester which I got for free from one of the crocheters near me about 5 years ago, a few days after I was transferred to the feedmill department.

The Thread was thin but I decided to use a 3mm crochet hook which I think would make the project easy stretch, in this case, it would easily be elongated to the height I wanted it to be.

I started with a chain three, and did a double crochet on the first stitch and made another chain three and did a double crochet on the center of the previous stiches. I made as longa s I neede it to be but made sure it would be divisible by 4 since I made this huge mistake whenI mad emy daughter's skirt.

I closed to make a round and so I could made V-stitches(2 double chrochet, chain 2, 2 double crochet) on the chain 3 space on the previous round and made 11 stitches of the V-stitch. On the next 11 rounds, I made V-stitches with a chain in between them, and on the next 11 stitches, I made V-stitches with 3 chains in between.

I am now on the fourth color, I am very happy when I reach the part where color changes because I put it in my mind that I am a little more closer to being done. Can you relate to this feeling?

Q

Tonight, I had a few minutes allocated to my skirt, I was on schedule of having an over time at work and we only catered 2 trucks of corn and I had many spare time.

I started with the skirt this long

And a few minutes after, I was able to reach the yellow and orange combination and had lengthened my skirt a few inches more

Staring at my hand doing crochet made me sleepy, and a bit nauseous so I stopped and made this blog to share my happiness with you. Only you can understand my joy.

So I was hoping that my WIP would pass as a boho style and hopefully, I could finish it before December 18th.

This would be all for now, see you in my next blog and on the comment section. Thank you so much for your never ending support! Keep safe and stay happy!
