Muchas gracias por leer mi post!

English Version
Yesterday was the First Hive Meetup in Bratislava and I did not meet my own expectations. First of all, because the number of people who attended was not what I expected and to be honest with you and with myself, I felt disappointed because I had high expectations.
We were a total of 3 people, including me. I got a lot of excuses from friends who were supposedly going to show up but had other priorities, and seeing that people were not showing up, I didn't even take pictures of us, the food, or the atmosphere of the night.
Today, looking at things calmly and objectively, I'm going to tell you the things I can do better and the things I shouldn't do in the future.
Things I won't do in the future:
- Invite friends and family who don't show interest from the very beginning when I tell them about Hive. I think I'm putting them in a "yes I'm going because you're a friend/family, but not because I'm interested in web3.0 and I would like to know more about it.
- Ask them to confirm me and not to a system that is unlinked to my person, such as a mailing list, a public event, a website, etc.
- Call people to confirm their attendance the day before. I say this because if a person is not able to remember by himself that he is going to attend a meeting, then I should not spend time with that person.
- Create great expectations of other people.
Things I need to improve for the future:
- Have an automated system where interested people can register or download an ebook and then receive a reminder about the event. At the same time, they receive information about the basic topics of Hive.
- Promote the event to similar groups that may be interested in using Hive and all its apps. Examples; reading groups, writers groups, content creators, foreigners looking for a new community, blockchain fans, crypto investors, etc.
- Look for a better technology location for presentations.
- Choose a day with less activity in the city. The city has many activities that day and I think something during the week can be a better alternative for attendees.
- Invite more people from the Hive community to participate and share their experiences.
Final thought
Many times I tell myself, "If you're going to fail, fail big and fast to learn and do better in your next challenge" It's not my phrase, but I tell it to myself many times and I no longer remember where I first heard it.
As I said in the Hive Bratislava Meetup Brainstorming, a success metric is to increase attendance by 20% at the next event, which is quite an achievable number for the next one.
Take the opportunity to thank @tibfox for the support, and although the shirts have not arrived in time for this event, it is quite possible that they will arrive for the next one. 😀
Thank you very much for reading my post!

To start up such a meetup from scratch is never easy. Don´t be disappointed!
true words!
Thanks a lot!
Sorry to hear that the meetup didn't fulfill your expectation, but I hope that you 3 had a lot of fun!
The thing that @tibfox did with plugging in the meetup to the Berlin conference isn't a bad idea at all... So, if you have some crypto event in your city, maybe you can plug in the HIVE meetup for later hours the same day or the day after/before?
Cheers!
Hi! I will keep in mind your advice!
Hey man - I am sorry that you got disappointed but you made it! Don't let the amount of people influence what you have achieved: The first-ever Hive meetup in Bratislava :) I would like to add an extra point to make it more visible next time: Post 1-2 more posts about the upcoming meetup so people will more likely not miss it and get reminded. Maybe that will help next time.
Regarding the package - we are already in contact. Hopefully, I can sort out what happened and send it again.
Greetings!
Yeah I should do a better job promoting the even. 👍🏾
Even though you made a meetup with 2 non-hivers (did you tried to onboard them? ;) ) I sent you the promised 20 Hive SBI 😊 I strongly believe that your next meetup will be better!
Hi!
I did. The women is 50/50 to join and the guy is less likely to join, but is just the first talk. I will follow up with than and will see the real answers.
