Street photography... who's waiting for the cake?

The street has its armour—you can't see it, but you can feel it. You hesitate, you move forward, you hesitate again, and there is the bell tower and the sound that takes me to you, once and a thousand times. Mystery, fascination, and pain from which I grow.

I command you to return to your origin, to me, to your reflection.

“Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. Say you’re running and you think, ‘Man, this hurts, I can’t take it anymore. The ‘hurt’ part is an unavoidable reality, but whether or not you can stand anymore is up to the runner himself.”

― Haruki Murakami, What I Talk About When I Talk About Running

And so the mirrors also absorb the life of the streets. Shiny and dusty, impeccably or chipped to the point of mutilating your breath.

I am here, in your shoes, but walking among the people and their resentments and voracities. I have also felt compassion and joy, the kind that only comes as if someone is sending echoes from a distant and unknown place.

However, I disapprove of what you are doing now, what you have been doing for days... what do I say?, decades: you waste so much to shine what cannot simply shine because the light is in you.

How long do you think my nourishment will last? I said forever and ever I would stand firm because I am responsible for our lives... but that doesn't give you the right to leave me all the burden... and the silence.

Please, come back.

I wouldn't say I like hospitals or dreary corridors. I don't take pills, I get depressed many times by the suffering of others and I keep waiting for you to take the first and definitive steps, the steps of the dancer who didn't let herself be overcome by adversity.

Just dance, and look beyond what you see. It's an echo I dream of. Look at what lies beneath the surface, beneath the sand, the waves.

Those words wake me up in the morning.

Let's see, the weather is cool today. This is a municipality in Havana which is looking peeling and I have to go there shortly, again. To make it clearer for you, as soon as I finish writing this post I will go there. The streets always look very crowded, invariably. Dangerous. The danger is always latent wherever hope is probably lost. People struggling as best they can. Life going on... the usual.

And when I look at my photos, believe me, it's not the darkest I've ever seen.

Timing is also important for a photographer! ;)

One cake, two cakes... who's waiting for the cake?

...

Just come back! Don't look at me, but come back.

It was worth going to Marianao, there are many interesting places, and people in their daily life. Your camera taking every last detail. A kiss my daughter, 🥰😁

yes, you know I love street photography.

😘

Great Street photography Miss, love the way you have used reflections artistically bloody fantastic idea

👀😅 Thank you. It looked interesting what was inside and outside those dusty panes.

very clever photography

Always shine, one's own light is the most important thing, shine and reflect so that the brightness is multiplied.

Great pictures!!! Real life!

Thank you. I was by that place again in vain... well, I exercised my legs on the walk. And I bought yoghurt.
There was a very pretty light over the peeling buildings but I kept it for myself.

;)

Have a good rest.

Well, the positive was the walk!!!! We'll do it again.

Good morning!😃

Morning! ☕

I loved the Japanese phrase so much that I've kept it in my heart.

Because it applies to many things, doesn't it? 👌

hi @nanixxx The photos are very good, it is the day portrayed in a natural and beautiful way.

Havana is a photogenic lady in pain. Terrible. 😣

Thank you, Eve.

I have to read the publication again, many things resonate with me, among them: hope.

And I will read it again when my hands stop clapping.

A big hug @nanixxx.

Would you like to join me on the street now? ;)
Bye, I'll be back later. It's time to shine.

Hug back. And hope.

👋 🚴‍♂️

Nope... I'm on foot.
👋

👋🚶‍♀️

😂 I was expecting it!

😂 hasta mañana!!!

As always you capture everything so well. The good and bad of the streets. Life goes on and some people do what they have to in what they think is best for them.

Cake...Oh I think you got a bead on the second piece, jaja. Take care Amiga 🙂

That's right, what you mention about what people do. Because my photos don't always capture everything so well. But I appreciate your comment, Amigo.

Oh, cake with ice cream! It's something I really like. I try to eat it sparingly because I have to take care of my health and shape.

Son una delicia estas fotos 👏 Me encanta ver mi Cuba a través de tu lente nani. Gracias por compartir 📸👏👏👏

Gracias @ceciliajess, es un placer compartirlas. Y qué bueno que te gustan.

Excellent photoshoots and beautiful post. It's nice seeing Havana from the distance. I really miss it and with your photos I made a tour. Good job!

Hi, it's a pleasure to share these images and to receive feedback like this, it really encourages me to keep trying with street photography. Thank you!

Your photos speak...your words are strong and sometimes confuse me...but they are still powerful....
Your camera and you, you and your camera.....
🌻

Thank you. Where were you, Yohana?

Confusion - This is important to avoid, and is achieved through meditation and mindfulness. 🤣

Good morning @nanixxx, I was on an impromptu trip to Varadero, combining work and fun...and believe it or not meditating as well.
We were caught by surprise there by the bad weather and the DAF (is that what they say?)

But here I am trying to join in and with an arsenal of crappy photos, which I don't think categorize for the Galenkp group either...😏, I'm hopelessly bad....
But never mind, happy...😋

Always a pleasure to greet you, you're a monster at writing! Did I tell you?

The word enslaves us. Do it and say it's going great, while enjoying the process.

I don't know what DAF is. Is it a scientific thing?

Good afternoon, I have to go and do some mechanical work. 😉😂

A DAF occurs when the systems that produce electrical energy are so low for whatever reason that everything automatically shuts down as if it were a protection circuit...that is what happened a few days ago in Cuba when we ran out of SEN (Servicio electroenergetico).

Good look whith your bici.

Odio el traductor...😅

Dios mío... 😁 - sin palabras.
