My DIY: Remaking My Favourite Palms

in Build-It4 years ago

Have you ever taken a quality time to think about what it truly means for one called a wealthy man?

Introduction

Many people things that one of the signs of wealth is wastefulness and recklessness but then it beyond that. I have had funny set of people coming to ask me funny questions when they see me trying to amend my stuffs. They will be like can't you buy this thing a new and throw this one away?
The expression on their faces is always funny and amusing then my response would always be why you dey take paracetamol for my headache? One of the native slang we use when we are trying to dismiss people. It literally means, Why are you trying to be more concern about my affair than I am?

People meet hard times times in lif often because they allow people's opinion of them become their base while making a life time decision but I have actually choose to be different.

Now I ask another question.... What do you do with your footwear when it gets older?

Just answer that to yourself and meditate on it.

Now one of the attitude of the rich I have learnt is that they are not quick to condemning things. If that's the attitude of the rich then I should follow suite because I am also desiring to be rich and that's what motivated me to remake my palm slippers again and this time great features was added to give it an exceptionally different look, style and class.

Old Palms

When things and even people gets older, their beauty and attraction begins to die out as they advance. When I first got the palm, almost all of my friends needed the same thing because of how catching the stuff was but few months down the line the response became different.

Life has taught people to keep their appearance as a high priority because how people address you is traceable to your appearance.

I love looking good so I decided to do something about my palm.

I guess you don't like the looks of the palms you see there so I thought it will make much sense to transform the looks of the palms.

The Process

As always, you cannot pitch a new lather to an old one.

The work begins right from here.

I needed exactly the same design so all I had to do was to place the old lather on the new one I bought and drew it to give me exactly the same design.

That reminds me, things are a bit expensive here in my country but it's okay I have a better source of income here on HIVE.

After marking and drawing the stuff, I cut the lather to the size of what I want it to be just like this

You might ask why it is 4 different lathers but this is it, it's because I had to double the lather to make it stronger.

From here I gummed the two lather together, added a pendant or fancy as you would love to call it and headed right to sew the lather together. I would have ended with just th gum but I was considering seasons. Wise is a man who thinks of the future when he wants to embark on a project. Talking about the season, in Nigeria we will soon enter fully into the rainy season and that's why I had to introduce the sowing machine.

I went to a friend's shop to so the stuff but I could not really take photos because of the urgency.

Moving from the shop I went back to my work space and that was where I did the last lap of the job.

The last lap is always the most difficult.

I don't have lazz but so I lazzed it with my leg being that I am the one wearing the shoe.

I mentioned that I was remaking the palms so I still had to use the sole of the old palm.

I added the blue lining lather to finish up the whole deal perfectly and that was all to finish the shoe.
