Welding back the scuttle

in Build-It6 days ago

With everything having a generous, dry coat of paint, I put seam sealer along all the edges that needed it, similar to how the factory had it.

I also cut out the rust on the door frame just under the scuttle, then set about replacing it with fresh steel, after having cleaned it up and given it a coat of paint to slow down any future rust.

This too was done in small manageable sections vs when I tried to close up the previous side with a single piece. Progress was much faster as I could solve more, simpler puzzlers quicker.

Before closing up completely by the door I welded the scuttle back. Not many photos were taken of the process as I had a multitude of clamps and was struggling somewhat with the 2 separate pieces.

The result is far from perfect but much better than it was.

I love watching people do something with their hands 👍 - because I can't do anything myself and I'm lazy ))
