Hello everyone.
Hope you're having a great Monday.
Today I want to share how I made a black basket shoe with you all.
Materials used were
Leather
Adhesive
Pair of lasts
Fibre
Soft leather for lining
Lace
There's a precut pattern that is used to get how to cut the leather.
When we cut it on the leather, we then sew it on to the lining as shown in the picture
After that, a lace will be attached to the eyelets punched on the leather. And tied to hold the pattern firm when placed on the pair of lasts
A front stiffner is then placed so as to provide a form of protection for the toe and also give the shoe a shape.
Gum is then applied everywhere and then the shoe is lasted using a lasting plier.
We then attach a welt around the shoes before using an adhesive glue to hold the sole in place.
When it is attached together, you can then file the sole and dye the white welt to become black.
Thanks for stopping by
I've often wondered about the process. Thanks for sharing it!
You're welcome!
