Leptoglossus occidentali

This will be my very first post on the Insect Of The World Community. Recently I tried to do some macrophotography, using my DSLR camera and also some extension tubes. I am planning to buy a macro lens, but the price is way above my head.

Back to the post, what hinders me in making a post about an insect or small animal is getting the name of the insect is a bit difficult. They tend to have very similar body types, and colors, but they are different species. I have tried google lens on my phone, but since I edit my photos on my PC, it took me some extra steps to be able to use Google lens to identify the insect.

Before I continue adding more words into my ranting intro, let's cut it here. LOL

I found this little insect when I am out in a small abandoned garden behind my house. this little guy is sitting on a bush's leaf. He seems to be sunbathing when I saw him.

According to wikipedia, this is The western conifer seed bug (Leptoglossus occidentalis). But the problem is that this species is native to North America, but I found it here in Bali, Indonesia.

Another problem is that they usually feed on conifer, which is not present around the area where I took the photos. So if you have any suggestions, please let me know. 😀
