Hello Insect-Lovers !
For a good period of time now, the Fascinating Insect community which happens to be the only insect-focused community on Hive has been rudderless. Even though efforts were made to make things not degenerate to an extent, very little could be done with the Admin of the community being largely unavailable from the Hive blockchain. Thus, it is in the interest of everyone that a new community is formed. But in this community we will implement a whole set of willing moderators, which will be composed of individuals that not only have made their marks on the chain, but are also still active within Hive and additionally allowed the access to the community account too. This is important for a overall functioning community environment. Welcome to the birth of 'Insects of the World' community!

Moderator Tasks
Curation Reports (@gentleshaid & @lourdeshd6 & @solominer & @deltasteem @nicanor-mosquera) :
Our curators are choosing up to 12 post per week within the community and are compiling them into a weekly curation report. These selected post will receive some really nice up-votes as an appreciation for their great contribution to the community. In addition the curators are responsible for commenting actively on community posts and are trying to help as good as possible to improve the quality of the content from the posters with constructive criticism.
Community Up-Vote :
First of all, every single curated post will receive an 100 % upvote from the community account itself. In the beginning this up-vote may be a little low, but the HP of the account is steadily growing and soon we will be able to give some really nice up-votes to you 😉
Other Up-Votes :
In addition, we will apply to the OCD-Community Incubation Program and forward the curated posts to OCD and subsequently receive some really huge up-votes by them. They are also visible in a special #curated-posts channel in the DNA DISCORD. Their Incubation Program is so amazing and is helping all the communities on Hive to grow and thus to create a Hive that can fulfill the needs of all Hiveans out there. It pushes Hivean-bonding to new limits :) .. Thank you soooooo much for this OCD. This is an outstanding gift to the Hiveasphere !!!
CONTESTS & CHALLENGE & ACTIVITES :
To implement some funny activities for our community members and enrich the interactive experience we set up a weekly Contest/Challenge/Activity ... This will be announced once the community grew a bit larger and accumulated a fan-base ^^
Prizes to Win :
- 1st : 3 HIVE (1 HBD)
- 2nd : 2 HIVE (0.5 HBD)
- 3rd : 1 HIVE (0.25 HBD)
Choosing the Winners :
The voting for the winners will be done by the whole DNA community. Therefore we created a special contest and challenge channel in the DNA Discord. Every DNA member is able to assign "voting emojis" under the entries for 24 HOURS and in the end those three with the most of them are the lucky winners.
You will always find the current curation reports, as well as the announcements of the contest/challenge/activity pinned in our community feed. You will find the details in there too. But keep in mind that all the posts to the community have to keep the community rules that are explained in more detail below ^^
Community Rules
Of course there are some rules to the Community and all of you should read over them properly and keep them in mind whenever you want to publish a post here. The rules are crucial to be accepted as a contest/challenge/activity entry and also to be reviewed as a potential curated post!
- Only post you own original content and do not copy&paste or plagiarize !
This will be taken very serious. If we find out that you are breaking this first rule, we reserve us the right to mute you within the community and will also notify the other communities about it and report you to Hivewatchers for a closer look into your account. Always state the source of all of your pictures, even if they are your own. Soo, obviously the second rules is ..
- Always reference the source of pictures and texts, even if they are your own !
The aim of the community is to share knowledge about the world of insects around you. This means that we are not a "Photography" community and we treat pictures from professional photographers the same way as those from amateur photographers that are only using mobile phone cameras. Our focus is on the descriptions of the pictures. In every post we would like to read the reason why you are showing us your pictures, your motivation, your feelings, and so on. We are here for bringing Nature-Lovers together and not for watching solely pictures 😊 This brings us to the third rule.
- Do not post picture without text. Add explanations that suit the community philosophy !
The last rule is probably an obvious one, but nevertheless I will state it here once. Other than plagiarism breaking this rule will kick you out of the community directly without any further investigation or notification !
- No hate or discriminatory language of any kind or other offensive behavior !
We at Hive believe in being a proper and adult blogging platform and do not want to become like these other widespread social media platforms out there ^^
DNA - Densifying Nature-Appreciation
The Amazing Nature Community is part of the awesome DNA project (Densifying Nature-Appreciation). DNA searches for HIGH-QUALITY posts that aim to DESCRIBE and determine the BIODIVERSITY AROUND YOU with added EXPLANATIONS and INFORMATION. For these informative posts DNA offers a CURATION SERVICE using the @dna.org account. It is also a CURATION TRAIL. At the moment DNA is also the home of #amazingnature hosted by @adalger, the #featheredfriends hosted by the lovely @melinda010100 🦢 for all you great posts about our feathered friends and the #fungifriday hosted by the amazing @qwerrie 🍄 for all your posts about fungi and mushrooms ^^ .. But we hope that more nature related communities will join and participate in this gigantic and ambitious nature project, or maybe some Hiveans start their own little project there ;)

All the communities have their own Moderators using the DNA-Curation service and and the whole AN Moderator Team also are set as DNA-Moderators. This external cross-community curation-service is hoped to raise awareness of the DNA project to Hiveans out there and aims to bring all the great nature-related communities together to help all the nature-loving Hiveans to bond together ^^
