Hello insect lovers, for days I wanted to contribute my grain of sand, this will be my first publication in the insects of the world community, I hope you like it.
Yesterday while I was walking my dog maiden, I approached a lake near my house, which is located in the park of my city where I hoped to be able to photograph dragonflies, and I was lucky ...
The Red Arrow Dragonfly (Sympetrum striolatum), is one of the most common in Europe along with other sister species, so I know, it likes quiet waters such as ponds and lakes, which it usually uses for breeding.
Apparently, the dragonfly that we observe in the images has not yet reached maturity, as I understand the females and the specimens that are still young have a light yellow thorax and abdomen, whereas in males they turn red when they mature.
It is not an easy species to distinguish for the inexperienced eye but taking into account the aforementioned we could get to identify its gender
Dragonflies are insectivorous insects or in other words insects that eat other insects I thought they ate plants and vegetables but they are high up in the food chain
Unlike other insects, dragonflies do not lay their eggs on leaves or plants, if not, they throw them into the water from the air while they fly.
