A few months ago I had participated in a curious challenge with some artists on Instagram 😙. The challenge was called The Broken Phone, it was initiated by @grisvisa and Loliblue.

Who I don't know what it consists of, the idea is to receive an image created by a previous artist; and with it, create a new version with our style.

Unos meses atrás había participado en un curioso reto con unos artistas por Instagram. El reto era el llamado Teléfono Roto, fue iniciado por @grisvisa y Loliblue.

Quien no conozco de que consiste, la idea es recibir una imagen creada por un artista anterior; y con ello crear una versión nueva con nuestro estilo.

I changed a lot the original idea of the painting... I guess I didn't understand well how the challenge was supposed to be at the beginning.

It also played a role that the previous painting couldn't be transferred to my style.

Cambie mucho la idea original de la pintura... Supongo que no entendí bien como consistía el reto en su inicio.

También jugo un rol que la pintura anterior no pudiera ser transferido correctamente a mi estilo.

Process/Proceso:

I wanted to keep several identifying features of the painting. The star, the ship, the space and the guardian of space... Although more than being a guardian, she looks more like a queen, i think i have a love for queens, hehe.

Quise mantener varias cosas identitarias de la pintura. La estrella, la nave, el espacio y la guardiana del espacio... Aunque mas que ser una guardiana mas parece una reina, hehe.

As always the base colors are first and foremost. For the coloring now I use a technique almost the same for everything: "Multiply" to generate gradient, and "Overlay" to give a little warmer tone.

Como siempre los colores base son primero y antes que nada. Para el coloreado ahora uso una técnica casi a igual para todo: "Multiplicar" para generar degradado, y "Superposición" para dar un tono un poco mas cálido.

Bonus fact: this was the first painting I did with my new graphic tablet; one with a screen to paint directly, I finally feel like a professional digital artist :3.

Once you have the base tones the rest is to go to the details. The ship was one of my favorites to paint, that lovy mini adorable cute pet thingy thing cry in Venezuelan.

Datito extra: esta fue la primera pintura que hice con mi nueva tableta grafica; una con pantalla para pintar directamente, ya me siento como toda una artista digital profesional ❤️.

Una vez se tiene los tonos base lo demás es ir a los detalles. La nave fue una de mis favoritas a pintar, esa cosa tan adorablemente tierna como mascota grita en Venezolano
