I am pleased to greet this great community of crafters and creators, today I am especially excited to share with you how I made a cute scratching post and pillow for the darling of the house, my cute kitty. The expenses love and it is their nature to be scratching objects and things, for this reason I made this scratcher.
Materiales usados/ Materials used
Utilice:
Mecatillo, pistola de silicona, barras de silicona, trozo de tela, pelotitas de polietileno, trozo de madera, botella de vidrio, pintura negra, pincel, tijera, hilo y aguja.
Use:
Mecatillo, silicone gun, silicone sticks, piece of fabric, polyethylene balls, piece of wood, glass bottle, black paint, brush, scissors, thread and needle.
Paso a paso/ Step by step
Primer paso/ First step
El primer paso fue, doblar la tela y realizar un círculo de 50 centímetros de diámetro, el cual cosi a mano y dejé un espacio para rellenar con las pelotitas de polietileno. Luego tome mi tela ya cosida y pinté varios huellas de gatos, en distintos tamaños alrededor de la almohada. Al secar la punta fui incorporando las pelotitas de polietileno, hasta llenar y dejar la almohada bastante suave para que el gatito al acostarse quede en un hueco rodeado en la almohada, y cierro con silicon caliente el agujero.
The first step was to fold the fabric and make a circle of 50 centimeters in diameter, which I sewed by hand and left a space to fill with the polyethylene balls. Then I took my sewn fabric and painted several cat prints in different sizes around the pillow. When the end was dry, I added the polyethylene balls, until I filled the pillow and left it soft enough for the kitty to lie down in a hollow surrounded by the pillow, and I closed the hole with hot silicon.
Segundo paso / Second step
Luego comienzo a forrar con mecatillo la botella, desde abajo hacia arriba y usando la pistola de silicona, haciendo con sumo cuidado y que el mecatillo quede bien pegado y muy junto para que no se desgarre con facilidad.
Then I start to line the bottle with the mecatillo, from the bottom upwards and using the silicone gun, being very careful that the mecatillo is well glued and very close together so that it does not tear easily.
Tercer paso/ Third step
Cómo último paso, forro el rectángulo de madera, con la tela de tapicería, usando también la pistola de silicona, dejando un espacio sin cubrir, donde irá el cojín o almohada
As a last step, I line the wooden rectangle with the upholstery fabric, also using the silicone gun, leaving a space without covering, where the cushion or pillow will go.
Cuarto paso/ Fourth step
Ya con todos los elementos listos pego con suficiente Silicon caliente la botella y realizo trenzas de mecatillo y las pego en la base de la botella y coloco la almohada, y para culminar el consentido prueba su almohada y rascador.
Once all the elements are ready, I glue enough hot silicon on the bottle and make braids of mecatillo and glue them on the base of the bottle and place the pillow, and to finish the spoiled one tries his pillow and scratching post
