So sometime ago I decided to try out the viral faux ceramic hack. I was bored to death and wanted to do something fun. Trying out this diy hack was definitely it for me. DIY Home decor hacks have always been my absolute favourite and having come across this particular one , It was love at first sight , all because of how beautiful the outcome was. I saw people try it out on plastic vases , glass and so on.
I always scavenge for stuff like this. Because it's great for a lazy person like me to try out something fun and cool like this. It's a fun and easy DIY that you could maybe try out on your own or with your friends. I have tried more such things and I'm excited to share it all with you guys!
This DIY is a very simple and easy one! Just take some baking powder and your favourite acrylic paint and voila get started with it ! You can literally paint on plastic vases or any other container of your choice and make it look like it's Ceramic. How cool is that ?
Note: DO NOT MIX THE ACRYLIC PAINT DIRECTLY. ADD A LITTLE WATER TO IT , TO MAKE IT A LITTLE LIQUIDY (idk if that's an actual word , but moving on ) and then add the baking soda. Once you add the soda you will see that the paint sort of fluffs up and eventually it settles down. Just like how baking soda reacts with food. Once it's settled down you can simply pick up your paint brush and start painting your vase or whatever that it is you chose to DIY. The texture of the paint looks chalky and very Ceramic pottery like. That is exactly why it's called Faux ceramic hack.
For my DIY I picked up two random terracotta pots that were lying around in my house for quite some time. And just started painting it. With one layer it didn't do much , but once the first layer dried off I added another coat of the paint mixture. And guess what ? I had my faux ceramic pots ready with me in the matter of 15 minutes.
My mom was mad at me , but yes I was happy to do this activity. It was a lot of fun 😆. You can see in the photograph below how they turned out! I painted them terracotta and olive green. Two of my most favourite colours. Love how they turned out.
So , would you try out this DIY ? how do you like it ? You can try out this diy to amp your space in an easy way. It not only looks clean but also adds a touch of elegance to the interior. Trust me , it doesn't look cheap at all from any angle. You can try it out and see for yourself. If you do try it out or have already tried let me know how do you like it 🫶. Stay tuned for more such content.
yes i agree it does look elegant! 😃 my mom would be interested in the making of this especially since she's got a lot of potted plants in various shapes and sizes 😄 thank you for sharing your wonderful work on this!
