Hello My dear friends. Art is a wide area. There is painting, sculpturing, architecture etc. In my case I like painting. Not that I don't like other things but I haven't tried so I don't know much about that. But when it comes to painting I studied paintings in my school life as a subject up to grade 11. But after I entered for higher grades I had to drop that cause I chose physical science stream which is completely different from painting. Because of that I couldn't carryout my painting works after grade 11 which was in 2012. And here I am 10 years later. So I thought of giving it a try after 10 years and see how good I am after all those years.
When it comes to painting I was good at design kind of paintings and I was not very fond of drawing humans. Therefore this time also I thought of doing the same thing, the thing that I think I'm good at.
When I was learning painting in my school we were taught different designs and the design of a 'Pinthali' is one of that. This 'Pinthali' is like a traditional plate with several designs on it. If you want to get an idea of it you can refer this. Thali Designs
Anyhow this is circular surface having several decorations on it. Since I liked doing designs like this I thought of doing a design like that but little different this time with my ideas.
For this I drew a circle using the drawing compass following several inner circles in it like this.
Then using the outer circle's radius I marked 6 equal spacing points on the outer circle like this.
Then I drew lines connecting them with the center of the circle like this.
Now comes the idea time. What I did next was I drew some designs inside one of this piece like this. This is where your creative ideas comes. You can draw anything you like and think would fit here.
Then you have to repeat this to other parts as well. Since it is bit hard to draw the same thing again and again with the same shape I copy paste it using another piece of paper. If you can use a transparent sheet or tissue paper it would be much easier. First what you have to do is place the paper on top of your design and follow the same line. And after you are done you can place the tissue paper on the other parts of the circle and draw the same lines with giving bit pressure to your hand and it will leave the mark on your circles. So you can easily draw on top of those marks with your pencil. And this is after finishing all the parts.
The next thing is to color them. For this I use watercolors cause that was my favorite material from my school time. That is because by using them we can make any color that we like. All you gotta do is mixing several colors.
Coloring also so much fun cause you have lot of options to choose. Which color would go with which design, how to mix them like there is lot to think about. And thinking is good actually cause it takes your mind in different direction. If you have some bothering thoughts you can get rid of them for a while. That is one reason why I like painting. And also it helps us to think creatively. I think painting is a good exercise if you want to develop your creative ideas.
Anyway getting back to the topic I used water colors and I thought of start painting my design from here. I don't have any explanation why I chose this color I just thought it would be nice.

And then I moved to another strip. And for that I used some bright colors like red and yellow cause I thought different colors would make the design look great.
And like that I continued the painting step by step with using different colors.
And this is how it looked like after doing all the painting work.
But as you can see some places it's not very clear because the details are bit small. So I thought of giving it a out line so that the design will be clear. If I do this in my school time I would use the same watercolors for outlining as well cause I was good with the brush. But this time I felt that it is bit difficult to handle so I thought of using a marker pen like this.
And this is how it looks like after all the work.
I think I looked okay. But if I'm being honest I think my past drawings are much better. But I this as well, cause this is the first one after 10 years. And I think if I continue this I would get better in no time.
