I bring you greetings all in this great community @hivediy and I hope you all are doing great, it's my pleasure to share with you today the simple, easy and quick process of cutting and sewing this bag I made for Grandma's friend.

Last week, I made a post on how I made a quick crafted tote bag for my grandma to church for Sunday service, after grandma took the bag to church, it was admired by most people especially her friends, little did I know that I will still have to make for Grandma's friends as well, as explained in the post, it was what I didn't plan for, to make a bag for grandma but the situation at hand made me quickly made the simple tote bag for her, when she got to church and her friends saw it and asked who made it, she proudly told them I made it, that was when 2 of her close friends requested for theirs too, saying how can I make a beautiful big as this for my grandma alone, so I have to make theirs as well and I promised to bring theirs too.

Thank God I still have some fabric left from the one I used to make that of grandma's tote bag, from there, I had to make another design of bag for one of them different from the one I made for grandma, I intend to use same fabric but with different designs for the 3 friends and it's my pleasure doing this for them.

Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process.

From the fabric, I measured and cut out 21 x 11" with lining of same shape.

For the handle, I can out 2 pieces of 15 x 4" from the main fabric.

The handle was folded and sewn on both sides.

On the main fabric, I measured 2" from the mid point and sew the handle on it.

The lining was placed on it as I sew on both edges.

It was folded main fabric to fabric and lining to lining, it was sewn round leaving an opening on the lining and I marked 1.5" on the 4 edges.

It was sewn on the 4 edges and trimmed off just as seen below.

I sew on the opening on the lining and top stitched round the edges

The sides were held in a pleated form as I sew on the 4 sides.

This is how the final outcome looks like, I hope you like the simple and beautiful design of this bag.

I'm sure grandma's friend will like this. I'm planning to make the last one with a different design as well
