Hello everyone
Compliment of the season to you all out there, it's Christmas and we are all happy to celebrate with our families and friends it's, a time to give out gift to our love ones and others out there as well. Talking about showing love to people around us, it is my pleasure to share with you this beautiful gift of a ball gown outfit I made for my two little nieces for Christmas. It's same fabric, same style, same design but different sizes, I made one for the little one and the other for the older daughter.
When Christmas was just around the corner, I was reminded of the promise I made sometimes ago by my little nice to make an outfit for them, then I thought to myself this is the best time to make a dress for the girls as this is when it will be more appreciated and feel so happy to have their dress, well, as God will have it, it will also server as their Christmas outfit since my sister only had it in mind to get the girls one outfit each for Christmas luckily enough, one of the outfit will be kept for the new year celebration since they will now have two outfits each.
Though the cost of buying these materials were on the high side but it's can't be compared to when I'm also giving it out to a seamstress to sew for me, thank God I'm making this myself, all I spent money on was just the cost of buying the materials needed.
From the fabric I bought, I cut out the front and back bodice with a satin which serves as the lining and it was sewn together.
The front and back were sewn together to have the half length and it was set aside.
Moving to the lower part of the ball gown, I cut out the full length measurement with the waist circumference measurement x 4 and it was gathered with a long stitch
The same was repeated on the tafeta but with a shorter length which serves as the lining.
To make it full and also to give the dress the ball shape, I cut out a cone shape on a satin with the waist circumference measurement with a shorter length as well and I pleated 10" of 2yards hard net on it with 4" interval on two places.
The main fabric was sewn to the waistline of the upper bodice, then the gathered tafeta and finally the hard net.
For the sleeves, I made a Puff and sew it to the armhole circumference to make a complete outfit the the girls.
Finally, a long belt made from the satin material was sewn to both sides of the dress to give it a beautiful shape when worn and a zipper at the back as well.
To add to the beauty of the outfit, I made a small bow embellished with a glittering silver applique and added it to the bow.
This came out so beautiful and nice, I hope you like the beautiful outcome of the ball gown I made for my two nieces for Christmas.
Nice dress making idea
Thanks so much, it's my pleasure to share the making.
