Hello everyone
Greetings to you all in this great community on this beautiful day, I hope you are all doing great and preparing well for the season, it's Christmas time and it's call for preparation before the big day, I have been so busy form the beginning of the month as most people have me to make their outfit for them, this time of the year is also a time when other people celebrate other events like burial service of grand parents for a life well spent while others choose to get married, so their are a lot of outfit to make for people around me. The good thing is that I make unsex outfit and other things like bag pouch cap and many more. Today, I will be sharing with you the making of this simple native trousers for my husband using African print fabric with a long rope to tie t the waist.
This is going to be a two piece top and trousers but first, I had to make the trouser before the top and I'm sure you will like the beautiful outcome.
From the Ankara fabric, I folded it in two to cut the front part of the trouser with 2" added to the top for the loop and 2" added to the hem for folding allowance.
I marked the waist circumference divide by 2 plus 2" at the crouch which was connected to the full length measurement and was cut out.
The front was placed on another folded fabric to cut the back with 1.5" added to the shape cut out.
I cut out a 2 pocket with 7" on fold by 16" for each pocket, then I curve it by the side to give it a pocket shape.
I measured 8" downward for the pocket opening and I sew on the pocket.
I picked one piece of the front and one piece of the back and sew it together with the pocket sewn to the front and back as well.
I repeated the same on the other side and the two legs were sewn together.
I folded in 2" at the hem of both legs and 2" at the top of the trousers for the loop which the rope will pass through.
Finally, from the pieces I cut out, I made a long rope and inserted it in the loop, this rope will be used to fasten the waist to make it firm.
The rope was inserted into the loop and this is the final outcome of the native trousers I made for my husband using African print fabric.
It looks pretty good. Your husband will be happy to see this. You just made his day. Nice work! Thanks!
Thanks so much, I'm happy to be his tailor, making his outfit just the way he wants it.
