I'm so happy it's the last day of the year, it's so good to be here today to share my lovely post with you all once again, this will be my last post in this community @hivediy for the year 2024 and it will be so to use this opportunity to appreciate you all for your time, support, comment, reblog and encouragement, to the founder, moderator, builder and all members of the community, I want to say a big thank you to you all for making this year an amazing one for me, I must say I'm happy to find myself in this great community where my post is been appreciated and encouraged, God bless you all, I hope to see you all again next year 2025 and I promised it will be an amazing ride although.
Today, I will be sharing with you the making of this simple and beautiful gown outfit I made for my little niece with ruffles at the hem to give it a beautiful outcome.
During Christmas, I made a ball gown for my niece which was a gift just as I had promised the kids and it was well appreciated, this has been a bit though for most people out there in my country that we now operate with the scale of preference, buying of Christmas or new year outfit is the least on most parents schedule but you know how little children can be so I decided to make a Christmas dress for the kids as gifts but for the new year, we didn't plan for anything for the children as the Christmas outfit actually cost me some extra money above my budget. Lucky enough for the kids, their uncle got them this beautiful fabric and as the seamstress for the family, I had to use it make outfit for them.
This was actually meant to be a surprise for the kids and I'm sure they will like it.
I started by cutting out a basic block bodice to the knee length for the front and back with zipper allowance at the back.
The front and back were placed on black lining to cut out same shape and was used to turn it inside out for neat finishing and I sew in a conventional dart at the front and back
The front and back were sewn together on both sides and at the shoulder while the zipper was sewn to the zipper allowance at the back
I measured the round knee measurement and cut out x3 of it by 7" it was gathered with a long stitch to the round knee measurement.
The ruffle was sewn to the round knee and I have this.
I proceeded to the making of the sleeves as I cut out a basic sleeve of my desired length with extended inches, it was sewn together with lining to make a loop at the middle.
I made a loop of 0.5" and inserted an elastic band into it to give me this beautiful little sleeve.
Finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference and the beautiful outfit is ready.
My niece will be so happy to have this outfit, it has to be delivered for the new year celebration.
