Hello, everyone. This is me again Crissiacor and this time—with a final update from my blog. I'm very pleased to share with you the journey of our research project, where we were able to create tiles with the help of Styrofoam and oyster shells. Everything began at the time of the material collection, and here's how it all happened.
COLLECTING MATERIALS
First, we had to get oyster shells. It's pretty easy to find around our place, and the styrofoam is recycled we usually we get them in the trash can
WE CRUSHED THE OYSTER SHELL
but after getting some, we cleaned and crushed them until they became powdery. Here is the well-crushed oyster shell.
THE MELTING OF THE STYROFOAM
Then came the styrofoam, which everybody knows is not good for the environment. That had to be melted down with gas to be able to handle it easier. Look at this melted styrofoam.
Weigh the crushed oyster shells and the melted styrofoam. The two should turn out even at 1/4 of each. Thoroughly mix the two materials, which gives a final mix into a mud like on the picture
CREATING THE MOLDER
And then, we made the tiles! First, we created a molder to make these tiles, and we tried three different mixes:
50% Styrofoam and 50% crushed oyster shell
40% Styrofoam and 60% crushed oyster shell
30% Styrofoam and 70% crushed oyster shell
Here's how the tiles turned out after molding:
The tiles were then left to dry out in the sun on my roof. Once the tiles were dry, we put them through three tests: durability, slip resistance, and water absorption.
TESTING THE TILES
WATER ABSORPTION
With the test of water absorption, we weighed the tiles before soaking and after soaking them in water for ten minutes. We were delighted; they did not soak water at all!
SLIP RESISTANCE
This was tested with the adherence of the adhesive by placing each tile on a plywood sheet with a tapper under it and tilting the plywood sheet slowly.
What we did time is taken on how long it took for the Tupperware to slip out from under the tile. The results? and the time is the first trail is 29seconds the second trail is 30seconds and the Third trail 40 seconds so the tiles had awesome slip resistance.
DURABILITY
Finally, the determination of durability was established under testing conditions by dropping the tile repeatedly until it broke; the tiles withstood drops of up to the first trail is 105, the second trail is 110, and the third trail 95 drops per minute, respectively.
This project has proved that it is possible to get very firm tiles, resistant to water and slippery, from Styrofojonses used in oyster shells and Styrofoam.
This is not only a cool new way of recycling, but also an action toward a friendly environment. Keep an eye out for more updates on our project.

Naning ani amo diding oyst☺️
thanksss do AHAHAHHAA
From scrap to product, the oyster shells and Styrofoam are mixed in order to make a tiles.I like how innovative you are and your group Ma'am @crissiacor
yesss maam if you want to try pwede raka mo tan aw sa akong blog para guidelines
Wow very naning,ka remember ko ani nga time nga ni borrow kog short nimo nga 'til now wala pa nauli HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
pleaseee can you return it HAHAHHA
Stock-up sa cabinet HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I always forgot man gud
Woah, hope you'll have a successful defense soon! I suddenly remembered our research 😭 unfortunately, we haven't started our study since the classes were suddenly suspended.
HAHAHAHAHAH its okay
Baka Didingskie yan
😎😎😎
Wow! What an amazing discovery. I once had a similar project like this with my students. Keep up the good work and be more!
thankss maam i hope the project of your student will be perfect
