Hoy quise mostrarles un trabajo manual que en su momento supuso para mí, estrés, preocupación, duda e impaciencia. Todo esto porque debía terminarlo a tiempo para que mis estudiantes lo utilizaran en un cierre de proyecto de aula que harían delante de sus representantes, por supuesto siempre nos ponemos nerviosos ante un reto, y más si tenemos respeto al trabajo de los estudiantes, desearemos que siempre todo salga lo mejor posible.
Today I wanted to show you a manual work that at the time meant stress, worry, doubt and impatience for me. All this because I had to finish it in time for my students to use it in the closing of a classroom project that they would do in front of their representatives, of course we always get nervous before a challenge, and more if we have respect for the work of the students, we always want everything to go as well as possible.
Bien, les diré que despues de ver las mil y una formas de hacer una maqueta tamaño gigante para representar la boca, busque los siguientes materiales: Caja de cartón, papel y pega blanca, tirro, botellas plásticas de refrescos de 2litros y de litro y medio, anime, pintura al frio blanca,foami de color rojo tela POP roja y color carne(en algunos lugares le dicen tela quirúrgica), silicone en barra, goma espuma o relleno (para la lengua), pistola de silicone, tijeras y ganas de trabajar.
Well, I will tell you that after seeing the thousand and one ways to make a giant size model to represent the mouth, I looked for the following materials: cardboard box, paper and white glue, paper, plastic bottles of soda 2liters and liter and a half, anime, white cold paint, red foami, red POP cloth and flesh color (in some places they call it surgical fabric), silicone stick, foam rubber or padding (for the tongue), silicone gun, scissors and willingness to work.
Recorte dos tapas de cartón en forma de "U", este sería el paladar, luego del tamaño de la curvatura de ese paladar recorte dos fajas de cartón. Una faja sería la encía superior y la otra faja sería la encia ionferior. Nota importante procuré cortar las dos curvaturas de la encía dejándoles una lengueta para poder unirlas y que esta unión fungiera como el fondo del paladar.

Fijé primero las fajas de cartón a los paladares con cinta y luego reforce con silicone, empapele con papel empapado de pega blanca toda la estructura para que agarrara duresa, forma y mayor durabilidad, luego la dejé secar por un día aproximadamente.
I first fixed the cardboard strips to the palates with tape and then reinforced with silicone, papered the whole structure with white glue soaked paper so that it would take hardness, shape and greater durability, then I let it dry for about a day.
Una vez seca toda la estructura forré con foami rojo las encías, luego pinté por dentro de rojo.y mientras dejaba secarse la pintura corté las bases de las botellaas, pues me servirían como molares, iguale los tamaños y procedí a pegar sobre mi estructura, luego de pegarlos me ocupe de hacer los premolares, caninos e insicivos con anime, procurando de igual forma que tuvieran la misma medida de alto.

Once the whole structure was dry, I lined the gums with red foami, then I painted the inside of the gums red and while the paint was drying I cut the bases of the bottles, because they would serve as molars, I matched the sizes and proceeded to glue them on my structure, after gluing them I took care of making the premolars, canines and insicives with anime, trying to make sure they had the same height.

Pegué el total de los dientes en cada estructura y la parte de mis estructuras les hice un forro con tela pop color carne, una vez hecho esto pegué la lengua. La lengua fué fácil de trabajar, hice con tela POP roja un saquito recto con base curva y lo rellene de un material que parece algodón sintético, tambiés se puede hacer con relleno de cojín o guata. Bien, una vez que rellené, la cosí.
I glued the total of the teeth in each structure and the part of my structures I made a lining with flesh colored pop fabric, once this was done I glued the tongue. The tongue was easy to work with, I made with red POP fabric a straight sack with a curved base and stuffed it with a material that looks like synthetic cotton, it can also be made with cushion stuffing or wadding. Well, once I stuffed it, I sewed it.
Pegué finalmente mis dos estructuras y recorte con tela la campanita de la garganta (la úvula) y se la pegué al fondo, y forré por fuera con la tela POP y me fui fijando que tuviera buena mordida la boca😄, de la misma forma retiré el ecceso de silicone o material para que se viejra un mejor tabajo.
Finally I glued my two structures and cut with fabric the throat bell (the uvula) and glued it to the bottom, and lined the outside with the POP fabric and I made sure that the mouth had a good bite😄, in the same way I removed the silicone or material to make a better job.
Al fin llegó el día de trabajar con este recurso, a los niños les encantó, hicieron su cierre y actualmente esa super boca reposa sobre mi estante, a la espera de que otro docente la pueda solicitar, deseo de corazón que no pase mucho tiempo, porque se deteriorará, perderá vistosidad e irá a la basura con solo una actividad de uso. Eso es triste, he tratado de regalarla pero nadie la quiere buscar🙃 En fin, espero que les haya gustado esta historia que forma parte del día a día de un docente de primaria, veremos en qué otro proyecto manual me aventuro en este lapso.
At last the day came to work with this resource, the children loved it, they made their closure and currently this super mouth rests on my shelf, waiting for another teacher to request it, I hope with all my heart that it won't be too long, because it will deteriorate, lose its attractiveness and go to the trash with only one activity of use. That's sad, I have tried to give it away but nobody wants to look for it🙃 Anyway, I hope you liked this story that is part of the daily life of a primary school teacher, we will see what other manual project I venture in this lapse.
