Today I bring you a tutorial in which I will show you how to make a glass jar decorated with fomi, which is inspired by Valentine's Day. This jar is something special, because while I was making it I came up with a lot of possible uses, which makes it perfect to give it as a gift to a family member, friend or special person. Let's remember that February 14 is not only the day of love, but also the day of friendship.
As I was telling you, this ornament has many uses, since it is made from a wide mouth glass container, we can use it as a container to store grains, spices or any other small thing. Also, by having one of its sections uncovered, we can see through it the state and quantity of what we keep inside. If I haven't convinced you yet, let me tell you that if you remove the top lid and place a candle inside, you will create a beautiful romantic atmosphere with the heart-shaped light it projects. So let's not waste time, let's get to know the materials and then the step by step.

¡Qué placer poder estar nuevamente por acá compartiendo con ustedes otra de mis creaciones! El día de hoy les traigo un tutorial en el cual les mostraré cómo elaborar un envase de cristal decorado con fomi, el cual está inspirado en el Día de San Valentín. Este frasco es algo especial, pues mientras lo estaba haciendo se me ocurrió un montón de posibles usos, lo cual lo hace perfecto para regalárselo a algún familiar, amigo o persona especial. Recordemos que el 14 de febrero no solo es el día del amor, sino que también es el día de la amistad.
Como les contaba, este adorno posee muchos usos, ya que al ser elaborado a partir de un envase de cristal de boca ancha, podemos utilizarlo como recipiente para almacenar granos, especias o alguna otra cosa pequeña. También, al tener una de sus secciones al descubierto, podremos ver a través de esta el estado y cantidad de lo que guardemos dentro. Si aún no te he convencido, déjame decirte que si retiras la tapa superior y dentro colocas una vela, crearás un hermoso ambiente romántico con la luz en forma de corazón que proyecta. Así que no perdamos el tiempo, pasemos a conocer los materiales y seguidamente el paso a paso.

Step by step // Paso a paso
1️⃣ I started by cutting out a medium-sized heart from a sheet of paper and gluing it onto the glass container. I then covered the rest of the surface of the container with paper towels and flour-based glue. I avoided covering the paper heart with glue so that it would be easier to remove later.
Empecé recortando un corazón de tamaño mediano en una hoja de papel y pegándolo en el envase de cristal. Luego cubrí el resto de la superficie del envase con papel de cocina y pegamento con base de harina. Evité cubrir el corazón de papel con pegamento para que posteriormente fuese más fácil retirarlo.

2️⃣ When the coating on the container was dry, I used a little water and with a finger I removed the paper core from the container, leaving the glass area uncovered. Next, I applied a coat of pink paint to the entire papered area.
Cuando el recubrimiento del envase secó, empleé un poco de agua y con un dedo fui retirando el corazón de papel del envase, dejando así esa zona de cristal sin cubrir. Seguidamente, apliqué una capa de pintura rosada a toda la zona empapelada.

3️⃣ Using some cutting dies, I cut out several thin sheets of green fomi and glued them around the edge of the heart, covering the irregular joint left between the glass and the pink wallpaper.
Utilizando unos troqueles de corte, recorté varias hojas finas de fomi verde y las pegué alrededor del borde del corazón, cubriendo la unión irregular que quedó entre el cristal y el empapelado rosa.

4️⃣ With the flower-shaped hole punch, I made 14 white fomi flowers, which I glued on top of the fomi sheets from the previous step. In the center of each flower I glued an orange semi-pearl, using a tool with an adhesive tip and acrylic glue, which made the procedure easier.
Con la perforadora con forma de flor, hice 14 flores de fomi blanco, las cuales pegué encima de las hojas de fomi del paso anterior. En el centro de cada flor pegué una semi-perla naranja, empleando una herramienta con punta adherente y pegamento acrílico, lo cual hizo más fácil el procedimiento.

5️⃣ With the leftover thin sheets I covered the entire bottom edge of the bottle. For the lid, I marked and cut out a circle of white fomi, which I thermoformed on top of the lid to create the appearance of a cloth. To finish, I cut three thin strips of pink fomi, which I braided and wrapped around the lid on top of the white cloth.
Con las hojas finas sobrantes cubrí todo el borde inferior de la botella. Para la tapa, marqué y recorté un círculo de fomi blanco, el cual termoformé encima de la tapa para crear la apariencia de un paño. Para finalizar, corté tres tiras finas de fomi rosado, las cuales trencé y envolví alrededor de la tapa por encima del paño blanco.
