Hoy les muestro un dibujo que realicé hace unos días y a petición de mi mamá para trabajar con sus pacientes en su consulta y que he titulado: "La reunión animal." Además de ser una ilustración para niños, es una herramienta educativa que posibilita el desarrollo del lenguaje y la imaginación de los pequeños, sobre todo en aquellos que tienen problemas con el lenguaje.

Today I show you a drawing that I made a few days ago and at the request of my mom to work with her patients in her office and that I have titled: "The animal meeting." Besides being an illustration for children, it is an educational tool that enables the development of language and imagination of the little ones, especially in those who have problems with language.
Para realizar este dibujo usé los siguientes materiales que muchos pueden tener a su alcance. No se necesitan herramientas costosas o sofisticadas para lograr una ilustración significativa y bonita.
Materiales:
-Hoja blanca.
-Lápiz.
-Goma de borrar.
-bolígrafo negro.
-Lápices de colores (no profesionales).
-Pedazos de ilustraciones de los animales a dibujar.
To make this drawing I used the following materials that many may have within reach. No expensive or sophisticated tools are needed to achieve a meaningful and beautiful illustration.
Materials:

-Colored pencils (non-professional).
-Pieces of illustrations of the animals to be drawn.

Los pasos que seguí fueron los siguientes:
En primer lugar, dibujé la ardilla mediante un pedazo de ilustración que recortó mi mamá de una revista. Hive todo según lo que ella quería. Usé un poco de mi imaginación y le puse anteojos. Este pequeño detalle me parece algo divertido de ver en el animalito.
The steps I followed were as follows:
First, I drew the squirrel using a piece of illustration my mom cut out of a magazine. I did everything according to what she wanted. I used a little bit of my imagination and put glasses on him. I find this little detail a fun thing to see on the little animal.
Seguidamente, continué con el otro animalito, un conejo comiendo una zanahoria. También lo realicé a este mediante el recorte de una ilustración. Quería que fuera una conejita al inicio, pero al final decidí que fuera un conejo. Esto me ocurre a menudo, pues van surgiendo nuevas ideas durante el proceso creativo o estas cambian completamente según los gustos de la persona que encarga la ilustración o la forma en la que esta interpreta la historia animada en su mente.
Next, I continued with the other animal, a rabbit eating a carrot. I also made this one by cutting out an illustration. I wanted it to be a bunny at first, but in the end I decided to make it a rabbit. This happens to me often, as new ideas come up during the creative process or change completely depending on the tastes of the person commissioning the illustration or the way they interpret the animated story in their mind.
Luego, en el siguiente paso, dibujé un perro gracioso que se acerca silenciosamente al conejo y a la ardilla. Este personaje genera cierta intriga y movimiento en la ilustración. Me divertí bastante haciéndolo, estaba dibujando cada trazo riéndome de lo cómico que me fue quedando. Además, le agregué al conejo una roca donde sentarse. Como dije anteriormente, van surgiendo nuevas ideas en el camino y, por consiguiente, nuevos elementos.
Then, in the next step, I drew a funny dog that silently approaches the rabbit and the squirrel. This character generates some intrigue and movement in the illustration. I had a lot of fun doing it, I was drawing each stroke laughing at how funny it was getting. I also added a rock for the rabbit to sit on. As I said before, new ideas come up along the way and, consequently, new elements.
Después, reforcé las líneas del dibujo con bolígrafo negro para darle más detalle a la narrativa visual y, por último, lo pinté con lápices de colores. La ardilla la pinté de color anaranjado, el conejo de color blanco y para el perro utilicé varios colores como carmelita, rojo, amarillo, anaranjado y morado. El resultado son personajes atractivos que sirven también como recursos para enseñar a los niños sobre los colores y sus combinaciones.
Then, I reinforced the lines of the drawing with black pen to give more detail to the visual narrative and, finally, I painted it with colored pencils. I painted the squirrel in orange, the rabbit in white and for the dog I used various colors such as carmelite, red, yellow, orange and purple. The result are attractive characters that also serve as resources to teach children about colors and their combinations.
De esta manera quedó terminado este dibujo, como lo pueden apreciar. El mismo servirá para desarrollar el lenguaje, ya que los niños pueden jugar a identificarlos, diciendo sus nombres o imitando sus sonidos característicos. También los niños pueden describir cada animal por su color, tamaño y por lo que está haciendo, creando así una historia creativa e imaginativa, por ejemplo: se puede ver una ardilla ofreciéndole una nuez al conejo que está entretenido comiendo una zanahoria y el perro, quien está detrás de ellos, se acerca silenciosamente para atrapar los alimentos.
This is how this drawing was finished, as you can see. It will serve to develop language, since children can play to identify them, saying their names or imitating their characteristic sounds. The children can also describe each animal by its color, size and what it is doing, thus creating a creative and imaginative story, for example: you can see a squirrel offering a nut to the rabbit who is amused eating a carrot and the dog, who is behind them, approaches silently to catch the food.
En fin, este dibujo, no es solo para un fin artístico, sino también pedagógico, para estimular el lenguaje a través de la observación, la narración, el juego y la creatividad. Espero que este proyecto inspire a otros a utilizar el arte para enseñar y conectar con los más pequeños.
In short, this drawing is not only for artistic purposes, but also pedagogical, to stimulate language through observation, storytelling, play and creativity. I hope this project inspires others to use art to teach and connect with children.
