Hello friends, I hope you are well, I return to this great weekly Splinterlands contest to participate with a handmade sculpture, using aluminum from soda cans as the main material. I have chosen the MUSTANG UNICORN card, because it seems like a powerful card to me, and since it has the design of a horse, I like it much more. I spent several days working on this sculpture, and it is 35 centimeters in size, I hope you like the process. Let's get started!
Hola amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, vuelvo a este grandioso concurso semanal de Splinterlands para participar con una escultura hecha a mano, utilizando como material principal, aluminio de latas de soda. He elegido la carta MUSTANG UNICORN, porque se me hace una carta poderosa, además que al tener el diseño de un caballo, me gusta mucho más. Esta escultura estuve varios días trabajando en ella, y tiene un tamaño de 35 centímetros, espero que les guste el proceso. Comencemos!

To start I used 8 cans of beer, which tasted very good by the way, so it was a pleasure to make this sculpture hehe. Just to start, I then added what was needed, main tools, scissors and a knife to cut and shape the cans and turn them into thin sheets to work with. To join the pieces I used quick-drying glue, it is the best and the one that supports the structure best over time.
Para comenzar utilicé 8 latas de cerveza, de muy buen sabor por cierto, así que fue placentero hacer esta escultura jejej. Solo para comenzar, ya luego fui agregando las que hicieran falta, herramientas principales, tijeras y navaja para cortar y moldear las latas y convertirlas en finas láminas para trabajar. Para unir las piezas utilicé pegamento de secado rápido, es el mejor y el que soporta mejor la estructura con el paso del tiempo.

To make the templates this time I used a program called Pepakura, it is great for creating templates and 3D models, very useful for architectural designs. After completing the design I printed the most difficult parts, the rest, the easier ones, I drew on top of the can. I started with the hind limbs and tail, and from there I worked my way up to the head.
Para hacer las plantillas esta vez usé un programa que se llama Pepakura, es genial para idear plantillas y modelos 3D muy útil para diseños arquitectónicos. Luego de completar el diseño imprimí las partes más difíciles, el resto, las que eran más fáciles las dibujé encima de la lata. Comencé con las extremidades traseras y la cola, y a partir de ahí fui subiendo hasta la cabeza.

Then I made the back of the body, it was somewhat difficult since it was the piece that took up the most space, and I had to use a larger can that I could reach for the entire template. Once the can was measured, I glued the template and then cut it out, then I started molding with a safety clamp, I put glue and that's how I put the whole piece together.
Luego hice la parte posterior del cuerpo, fue algo dificil ya que nes la pieza que ocupaba más espacio, y tuve que usar una lata más grande que pudiera alcanzar para toda la plantilla. Una vez medida la lata, pegué la plantilla y luego recorte, después comencé a moldear con una pinza de seguridad, puse pegamento y así armé toda la pieza.

Once finished I begin to assemble the limbs with the back of the body, I put each of the limbs where it belongs, using glue. We let it dry for a few minutes then we put each part in its place, with the clamp we can press to adjust better.
Una vez terminado comienzo a armar, las extremidades con la parte posterior del cuerpo, pongo cada una de las extremidades en donde le corresponde, utilizando pegamento. Dejamos secar por unos minutos luego vamos colocando cada parte en su lugar, con la pinza podemos presionar para ajustar mejor.

Next I begin to make the entire part of the back and the ribs and the stomach, here I use templates in the form of headbands, which I join one by one, of different sizes to achieve that curved effect and give shape to this part of the body.
Seguidamente comienzo a hacer toda la parte de la espalda y las costillas y el estómago, aquí utilizo plantillas en forma de cintillos, que voy uniendo una a una, de diferentes tamaños para lograr ese efecto curvo y darle forma a esta parte del cuerpo.

At this point I'm halfway done with the figure, although it seemed a little quick, I think I'd already been working on these parts for 3 days. Then I started doing the front limbs and also the chest. I also made this whole part by cutting aluminum strips in the shape of ribbons, leaving tabs on the outside that would serve to join one piece to another.
Hasta este punto ya lelvo la mitad de la figura, aunque parecía un poco rápido creo que ya tenía 3 días trabajando en estas partes. Luego comencé a hacer las extremidades delanteras y tambien el pecho. Toda esta parte también la hice cortando tiras de aluminio en forma de cintillos, dejando por fuera pestañas que sirvieran para unir una pieza con otra.

Almost when I finished I started making the head and tail. For the head I also used templates since the pieces were very small, this part took me too long, a whole day to mold and get the shape of the head to fit me perfectly. For the tail I used triangular cuts in the aluminum can, which I then shaped into a circular shape, joined each of the pieces and that was it. Then I glued the head to the back of the body and did the same with the tail. Up to this point I had 90% of the figure finished.
Ya casi al terminar comencé a hacer la cabeza y la cola. Para la cabeza tambien usé plantillas ya que las piezas eran muy pequeñas, esta parte me llevó demasiado tiempo, un día entero para moldear y que la forma de la cabeza me quedara muy. Para la cola usé cortes triangulares en la lata de aluminio, que luego le di forma circular, uni cada una de las piezas y listo. Después pegué la cabeza al retso del cuerpo y lo mismo hice con la cola. Hasta aquí tenía un 90% de la figura terminada.

To finish the sculpture I made a base so that it can stand very well, I made it with aluminum and cardboard inside, so that it would be very firm and as a last accessory I added the unicorn horn, thus this powerful Mustang Unicorn was finished
Para finalizar la escultura hice una base para que pueda sostenerse muy bien, la hice con aluminio y cartón por dentro, para que quedara bien firme y como último accesorio agregue el cuerno de unircornio, así quedo terminado este poderoso Mustang Unicorn
This is how it was finished, what do you think? I would have liked to find cans with a color closer to the original design of the letter, but the green color suits it very well, it is very bright. I will put a layer of transparent acrylic on it to make it shine more and thus the color of the can will be well preserved over time. But what do we see in the end? there will be a confrontation against Diamond Dragon hehehe another of my old sculptures. Así quedó finalizado, que les parece? me hubiera gustado encontrar latas con un color más cercano al diseño original del la carta, pero el color verde le queda muy bien, está muy brillante. Le pondré una capata de acrílico transparente para que brille más y así el color de la lata se conserve bien con el tiempo. Pero que vemos al final? habrá un enfrentamiento contra Diamond Dragon jejeje otra de mis antiguas esculturas. Espero que les haya gustado, no olviden comentar que le sha gustado, deseo poder seguir compartiendo esculturas de esta tipo porque me gusta mucho hacerlas, además de reciclar.
