Several days ago I told you that some friends and I had prepared more than 50 cakes, to sell them for the benefit of a friend who wanted to repair a clarinet to participate in time in a concert.

We managed to sell all the cakes and our friend was able to participate in the concert, but besides the whole concert thing, which I already told you about, I would like to show you how I made some little boxes to deliver the cakes we sold. I made four models, which I will show you one by one. This is the first one, so let's start.

Logramos vender todas las tortas y nuestro amigo logró participar en el concierto, pero además de todo el tema del concierto, del que ya les conté, me gustaría mostrarles cómo hice unas cajitas para entregar las tortas que vendimos. Hice cuatro modelos, los cuales les mostraré uno por uno. Este es el primero, así que vamos a comenzar.
Well, the first thing I did was to take measurements for the cakes. I took these three models because they were the cakes we made.
More or less those were the measurements, but when you are going to make these models, make sure that the box is bigger than the cake. In my case I made the box 1 cm bigger than the cake.
Bien, lo primero que hice fue tomar medidas para las tortas. Tomé estos tres modelos porque fueron las tortas que hicimos.
Más o menos esas eran las medidas, pero cuando vayan a hacer estos modelos, procuren que la caja sea más grande que la torta. En mi caso yo hice la caja 1 cm más grande que la torta.

These are the three molds of the three cakes I chose as models. The first one is the pineapple cake, a very tasty cake of which we managed to make 8 pieces.
Estos son los tres moldes de las tres tortas que elegí como modelo. El primero es el de la torta de piña, una muy rica de la que logramos hacer 8 pedazos.
As I told you, after making the model, I started to do it cleanly, with a ruler and pencil. I tried to leave at least 1 cm more width in the cake model, so that the box would be bigger.
Como les dije, después de hacer el modelo, comencé a hacerlo en limpio, con una regla y lápiz. Traté de dejar al menos 1 cm más de ancho en el modelo de la torta, para que la caja sea más grande.

Below you can see the two models, both for the top and bottom cover, all made from scratch, based on the shape of the cake.

Here I will clarify that for the cover I used cardboard, a thick material so that the cake would be protected at least on the top. For the bottom, I used a thinner cardboard.
Aquí voy a aclarar que para la cubierta usé cartulina, un material grueso para que la torta estuviese protegida al menos en la parte superior. Para la parte inferior, usé una cartulina más delgada.

At this point, after finishing the basic shapes of the box, you can decorate it as you like.
I decorated it this way. First I cut a piece of paper to cover the back of the lid, to give it a different decoration than the normal covers.
En este punto, después de terminar las formas básicas de la caja, ustedes pueden decorarla como les gusten.
Yo las decoré de esta manera. Primero corté un trozo de papel para cubrir la parte trasera de la tapa, para darle un decorado diferente al de las cubiertas normales.

After placing the piece of paper on the lid, I transferred the design from the paper to the cardstock, using an inkless pen to make those lines on the paper but without staining the cardstock.
With the help of the scissors, the pattern is cut out.
Después de colocar el trozo de papel en la tapa, traspasé el diseño del papel a la cartulina, usando un bolígrafo sin tinta para hacer esas líneas en el papel pero sin manchar la cartulina.
Con ayuda de la tijera se corta el patrón.

Fold each part of the cardboard and glue the ends together to form the bottom of the box. Since it is paper or cardboard, school glue will be enough to glue it.
In this case, I made a flap to join the sides of the box with glue. Once both the top and bottom sides are done, we test that both parts fit well.
Hay que doblar cada parte de la cartulina y pegar los extremos para formar la parte inferior de la caja. Al ser papel o cartulina, el pegamento escolar bastará para pegarla.
En este caso, yo hice una solapa para unir los lados de la caja con pegamento. Una vez hecho tanto el lado superior como el inferior, probamos que ambas partes calcen bien.
For the white part of the cover I thought of making it orange, yellow and red, to give it a tropical tint, like the pineapple, but I saw that it did not contrast with the red base I used for this cover.
In the end, I decided on white for this part. The great thing is that having at least two coats of paint gives it an interesting texture.
Para la parte blanca de la cubierta pensé en hacerla de color naranja, amarillo y rojo, para darle un tinte tropical, como la piña, pero vi que no hacía contraste con el rojo base que usé para esta tapa.
Al final, me decidí por el blanco para esta parte. Lo genial, es que al tener al menos dos capas de pintura, queda con una textura interesante.

As a decoration for the lid, I made a pineapple that I placed in one corner of the lid. To make it, just fold a piece of yellow and green cardboard, fold it like parchment and cut it out, then spread it out.
I did it this way, but you can cut out a drawing of a pineapple or make another type of decoration. Below you can see how it turned out:
Como decorado de la tapa, hice una piña que coloqué en una esquina de la tapa. Para hacerla, solo hay que doblar un trozo de cartulina amarilla y verde, doblarla cual pergamino y recortarla, luego extenderla.
Yo lo hice de esta manera, pero ustedes pueden recortar un dibujo de una piña o hacer otro tipo de decorado. A continuación pueden ver cómo quedó:

Once the boxes are ready, it's time to put the cake inside. As you can see, the cake has enough space, at least 1 cm I left, but you can make it bigger if you like.
Una vez lista las cajitas, hora de guardar la torta en su interior. Como ven, la torta queda con bastante espacio, al menos 1 cm dejé yo, pero ustedes pueden hacerla más grande si gustan.

As a final decoration, I made these gold and silver hearts to stick on the sides and back of the cake.
I loved the hearts, but as I said, you can use any decoration you like, a star, spirals, drops, among other basic shapes.
Como decorado final, yo le hice estos corazones dorados y plateados, para pegarlos en los laterales y parte trasera de la torta.
A mi me encantaron los corazones, pero como ya dije, ustedes pueden usar el decorado que gusten, una estrella, espirales, gotas, entre otras formas básicas.

As I told you, it is made with paper and cardboard, so you can glue these decorations or hearts with regular glue.
Como les dije, está hecho con papel y cartulina, así que pueden pegar estos decorados o corazones con pegamento normal.
Thus the box was finished and with the cake inside, it was time to distribute it to those who bought it.
De esta manera quedó terminada la cajita y con la torta en su interior, era hora de repartirla a los que las compraron.
