Hola, creativos de Hive! El día de hoy les traigo una nueva manualidad para regalar. Últimamente he estado haciendo muchas cositas bonitas a mano para dárselas a mi novio y en este ocasión, les mostraré como pueden hacer un carta con efecto envejecido y un mini-sobre para meterla. A continuación les dejo el paso a paso detallado, espero les guste.

Hello Hive Creatives! Today I bring you a new craft for giving. Lately I have been making a lot of beautiful things by hand to give to my boyfriend, and on this occasion I will show you how to make a letter with an aged effect and a mini envelope to put it in. Below I leave you the detailed step by step, I hope you like it.

Materiales.

• Hoja de papel para acuarela o cartulina gruesa.
• Café líquido o acuarela color café oscuro.
• Micropunta negro, marcador negro o tinta.
• Tijeras y colbón.
• Lápiz de labios (opcional)

Materials.

• Sheet of watercolor paper or thick cardboard.
• Liquid coffee or dark brown watercolor.
• Black microtip, black marker or ink.
• Scissors and colbon.
• Lipstick (optional)

PROCESO // PROCESS

Empecemos con la carta:

Comenzaremos rasgando el papel por todo el borde, para conseguir que se vea como un poco dañado o viejo; luego de esto, para conseguir el color envejecido de las cartas antiguas, sumergiremos el papel en café (tiene que estar frio) o en acuarela, como prefieran, por unos minutos de lado y lado.

Let's start with the letter:

We will start by tearing the paper along the entire edge to make it look a little damaged or old; then, to get the aged color of the old letters, we will dip the paper in coffee (it must be cold) or watercolor, as you prefer, for a few minutes on each side.

Luego de esto, sacamos el papel, lo dejamos secar o le pasamos un secador de cabello y veremos como este papel se torna de un color beige o blanco hueso.

After that, we take the paper out, let it dry or use a hair dryer on it and we will see how this paper turns a beige or off-white color.

Cuando seque el papel, con un encendedor quemamos los bordes de la hoja de papel. Luego de quemar los bordes, lo arrugamos un poquito y debe quedar algo así:

When the paper is dry, we burn the edges with a lighter. After burning the edges, we wrinkle it a bit and it should look something like this:

Me parecía muy buena idea remojar el papel en café para conseguir el efecto envejecido, pero, se me ocurrió que también se vería muy genial si hacia esto ya que me recordó mucho a los mapas de los piratas y quería lograr algo así. Éste paso es opcional, pero a mi me gustó el resultado.

It seemed like a really good idea to soak the paper in coffee to get the aged effect, but it occurred to me that it would also look really cool if I did that, since it reminded me a lot of pirate cards and I wanted to achieve something like that. This step is optional, but I liked the result.

Con tinta, con micro punta negro o con lo que tengan, escribimos la carta. Yo, en mi caso, para darle un toque más romántico, le agregué unos besos (para esto era el lápiz labial).

With ink, a black microtip or whatever you have, we write the letter. In my case, to give it a more romantic touch, I added some kisses (that's what the lipstick was for).

Ahora sigamos con el sobre:

Para el sobre, necesitamos primero que todo, un papel resistente para que no rompa al momento de doblar y un cuadrado perfecto, ya que todos los lados deben ser iguales o no saldrá bien. Lo primero que haremos será doblar hacia adentro dos extremos del cuadro de esta manera:

Now let's move on to the envelope:

For the envelope, we need a strong paper so that it will not break when folded, and a perfect square, because all the sides must be the same, otherwise it will not turn out well. The first thing we are going to do is fold two ends of the box inward like this:

Luego de tener el papel doblado como se muestra en la imagen anterior, lo que haremos será doblar la parte de abajo hacia arriba, pero sólo un poco, de esta forma:

After we have folded the paper as shown in the previous picture, what we are going to do is to fold the bottom part up, but only a little bit, like this:

Este dobles lo meteremos de esta manera entre las otras dos puntas que doblamos, para así formar el sobre. Puede que les quede un poco torcido, pero ustedes pueden ir acomodando el dobles hasta que les quede bien. ¿Ven como va tomando forma?

We will place this double in between the other two ends that we folded to make the envelope. It may be a little crooked, but you can adjust the double until it fits. See how it takes shape?

Luego de eso, doblamos la parte de arriba y nos debe quedar como un sobrecito; ustedes pueden dejarlo así si quieren, pero en mi caso, decidí añadirle un sticker que hice con el mismo papel que sobró.

Then we fold the top and it should look like a little envelope; you can leave it like that if you want, but in my case I decided to add a sticker that I made with the same leftover paper.
