My Christmas Eve: Making a Paper Christmas Tree

Hey Everyone!!

I hope everyone had a joyful Christmas Eve and enjoyed their holidays. This year, I decided to make a Christmas tree from paper and decorate it myself. It turned out to be a fun yet time-consuming activity, but I loved every moment of it.

I started my day by crafting the tree using green paper, glitter, and some decorative beads. While it took time to get the shape and details right, the final result made all the effort worth it. The golden star on top and the shiny decorations gave the tree a festive touch. However, I didn’t stop there. I prepared few little gifts to go with vibe. It took my whole day preparing all of this.

In the evening, I met up with friends to explore the Christmas vibe in the city.
We had a great time together, watching a movie and admiring the beautiful decorations everywhere. The streets were lit up with colorful lights, and there was such an amazing holiday spirit all around. We even enjoyed some delicious food before heading back home late at night.

Although I had prepared my Christmas tree earlier, the most challenging part remained—taking the perfect picture of it. Photography requires patience, especially when you want to capture the true beauty of your creation. The colors on camera often differ from what we see with our eyes, and finding the right lighting and angle can be tricky and a time taking process.

Since I was too tired when came back to home with all the activities I did throughout the day, I decided to save the task for the next morning. Now that I’ve captured and shared the pictures along with the process of making it, I hope you all enjoy them. Crafting this paper Christmas tree was a creative and satisfying experience, and I’m so glad to share it with you.

Let me know your thoughts, and I’d love to hear how you spent your Christmas!

Here are the steps of creating the Christmas using the video tutorial you shared:

Materials Needed:

  • Green craft paper (square-shaped)
  • Yellow paper (for the star)
  • Glue or tape
  • Scissors
  • Decorative items (optional: beads, glitter, stickers, etc.)

Steps to Create the Christmas Tree:

Step 1: Preparing the Green Paper

  1. Take a square piece of green paper.
  2. Fold the paper diagonally to form a triangle.
  3. Unfold and refold along the other diagonal, ensuring the creases form an “X” pattern.
  4. Fold the paper horizontally and vertically as well, creating a grid of folds.

Step 2: Forming the Base

  1. Fold the paper backward along the horizontal line.
  2. Collapse the folds inward by pressing along the diagonal creases. This should form a smaller triangular shape.

Step 3: Shaping the Tree

  1. Fold the square from centre making a cone shape. Repeat for each shape making a triangle.
  2. Starting from the closed side of the triangle, make evenly spaced cuts (parallel to the base) along one edge, stopping about 1 cm before the fold.
  3. Repeat this process for all folded layers, ensuring symmetry.

Step 4: Adding 3D Effects

  1. Carefully curl the cut pieces outward to form the branches of the tree. Use a pencil or your fingers for a smooth curl.
  2. Repeat the curling for all layers, creating a 3D tree effect.

Step 5: Final Touches

  1. Cut a small star from yellow paper and attach it to the top of the tree with glue or tape.
  2. Add decorative touches like beads, glitter, or stickers to give your tree a festive look.
