This Is How I Want My Pizza (Making Pizza Pin Using Polymer Clay)

$1

Hello, How are you? It is been a while since I posted clay art pins, I am getting clay blocks LOL just kidding I ran out of energy to do it. So a few days ago my brother craved pizza and he bought one it got me thinking why not make a pin out of it I did it but my version of pizza. Pepperoni and olives are my go-to topping and of course with sauce and cheese too. What toppings did you want on your pizza? This is my first time sculpting pizza still new to it hehe. I hope you enjoy me making it. :D

  • Alcohol
  • Cotton Buds
  • Glass Lid
  • Clay Tools
  • Soft Pastel

  • Dotting Tools
  • Oven
  • Silicone Mat
  • UV Resin
  • Butterfly Clutch&Pin
  • Glass Sheet
  • Lighter

Let's Start Crafting!

The first thing I do is grab the closest color of bread polymer clay I have which is this color. Then I knead it until it is soft. Conditioning the clay is important, to avoid cracking when it bakes.

5.JPG

6.JPG

After using my hand to knead, I use this acrylic rolling pin to knead the clay again, this is one thing to invest in when making clay art, makes life easier.

11.JPG

A portable weighing scale is important when you want your clay to be equally sized. I like to weigh the clay I used to know what specific size I wanted.

12.JPG

13.JPG

After that, I started molding the clay into pizza size. I start by poking it into the middle. I just trust the process here.

15.JPG

17.JPG

Because I don't have the big dotting tool, I just use the tip of the rolling pin to flatten the clay and I think it works it gives a realistic dough texture. And I love this empty medicine bottle I got from my mom big help to elevate the clay I am making.

18.JPG

19.JPG

For this part, I am going to clean the clay I mold, I prepare the materials for it which are alcohol, cotton bu,d, and the lid I got from the broken glass jar my mom had LOL.

21.JPG

23.JPG

I dip the cotton buds on the lid with alcohol in it and then start to clean off the dust from the clay.

22.JPG

24.JPG

After cleaning the clay, I started to add texture to the clay using the tree brush and this rake tool thing.

25.JPG

26.JPG

And then I used this needle tool to add more texture to the pizza dough clay.

27.JPG

28.JPG

This is my favorite part, adding shade to the pizza dough clay to make it more realistic.

29.JPG

32.JPG

I start with the lightest color before going to the darkest, I just little by little build up the color.

34.JPG

35.JPG

I wanted to add more texture to the dough, so I used the aluminum foil method which is to just crumple some and just dab it to the clay. This works if you don't have any tools yet.

36.JPG

38.JPG

Next is to add the toppings, I use this red clay I pre-mix before, what I do is I roll the clay in this kind of shape and after that, I grab the x acto knife to cut it into a pepperoni shape.

39.JPG

40.JPG

After that, I shape it into a circle and then I grab this dotting tool and poke the middle of the circle just to replicate the shape of the pepperoni when it is cooked.

41.JPG

43.JPG

It should look like this, I made enough for the pizza I am going to make.

51.JPG

52.JPG

Next, I did the same thing as the pepperoni, I am going to make olive next I don't know, I like olive on pizza so much, this time I am going to use a needle tool to poke a hole in the middle to replicate the olive.

44.JPG

45.JPG

The next thing I am going to do is the sauce and the cheese, what I do is I used this liquid clay I made before. I squeeze out enough for me to use.

46.JPG

47.JPG

To make the liquid clay colorful, I scrape soft pastels into the liquid clay and mix it until well combined.

48.JPG

49.JPG

This is my favorite part, It is like I am making a mini pizza. What I do is add in the sauce I made earlier.

53.JPG

54.JPG

I let the sauce dry a little bit before I add the cheese on top.

55.JPG

57.JPG

And then after that, I added the toppings I made earlier. I let the liquid clay dry.

58.JPG

IMG_0728.JPG

While the liquid clay is dry, this is the mess I made just this small thing I did LOL. So I clean the workstation first.

61.JPG

62.JPG

While I was cleaning I preheated the oven, so that I could save time waiting. Then I put the clay pizza onto the silicone mat and then when the oven is set to the temperature needed. I bake the clay into the time that is written on the instructions.

63.JPG

64.JPG

When the clay is baked let it cool down first before doing the next step. You know the clay is baked when it turns matte.

65.JPG

66.JPG

Now the clay cools down, I am going to glue the pin into the clay using the UV resin. All the super glue I bought gets hard and unusable LOL.

67.JPG

69.JPG

So what I do is put a small UV resin onto the pin and carefully put into the clay.

70.JPG

71.JPG

Then I lightly press it onto the clay after that I cure it under the sun for 5 minutes.

72.JPG

73.JPG

Now that the pin is glued I am going to seal it with UV Resin to make it more dustproof. I put enough into the clay.

74.JPG

75.JPG

Then I used a needle tool to spread the UV Resin evenly, but I ended up using a brush LOL.
