Desde hace un tiempo he querido hacer algunas fundas para los cojines de mi sala, en la actualidad me he dado cuenta que está muy de moda el diseño de hojas, en lo personal me gusta muchísimo, buscando entre mis telas conseguí unos retazos de unas telas blancas con diseños de pequeñas flores, así que me pareció linda la idea de hacer las fundas que tanto he deseado para los cojines de mi sala y hacerles la decoración de hojas, ven y te comparto el paso a paso:

For a while now, I've been wanting to make some covers for my living room cushions. I've noticed that leaf designs are very trendy these days. I personally love them. While searching through my fabrics, I found some scraps of white fabric with small floral designs. So, I thought it was a lovely idea to make the covers I've been wanting for my living room cushions and decorate them with leaves. Come and I'll share the step-by-step instructions with you:
MATERIALES
A todas las mujeres nos encanta decorar nuestro hogar, poco a poco vamos logrando esas bonitas decoraciones y la costura es una ayuda demasiado grande, ya que por medio de ella podemos lograr increíbles creaciones, luego de tener ya la idea de lo que quería, busqué entre todas mis bolsas de retazos varias telas en tonos verdes, luego seguí pensando en qué otra cosa podría utilizar para la decoración, aquí les dejo la lista de materiales a utilizar:
- tela para las fundas
- retazo de tela de varios colores
- entre tela o perlon con pega
- Cinta de Razo
- Tijeras
- Máquina de coser
All women love decorating their homes. Little by little, we achieve these beautiful decorations, and sewing is a huge help, as it allows us to achieve incredible creations. After having an idea of what I wanted, I searched through all my scrap bags for various fabrics in shades of green. Then I continued thinking about what else I could use for the decoration. Here is the list of materials:
- Fabric for the covers
- Scraps of fabric in various colors
- between fabric or perlon with glue
- Satin ribbon
- Scissors
- Sewing machine

Comenzaremos cortando la tela para nuestros forros, en mi caso mis cojines miden 34 cm por cada lado, así que cortaré el cuadrado de tela 2 cm más ancho por cada lado, seran 36 cm, esto es para que me quede el excedente para las costuras, en total cortaré 2 cuadrados ya que voy a hacer la funda para 2 cojines.
A la hora de cortar la tela para las fundas tenemos 2 opciones, o cortar los dos cuadrados iguales y hacerles la entrada del cojín en una de las orillas o cortar un cuadrado y cortar dos rectángulos un poco más grandes para colocarlos en la parte de atrás de la funda, estos rectángulos deben tener aproximadamente 4 cm extra para poder hacerles ruedo y que quede el espacio para colocar el cojín dentro, yo los haré de esta forma.
We'll start by cutting the fabric for our covers. In my case, my cushions measure 34 cm on each side, so I'll cut the square of fabric 2 cm wider on each side, making it 36 cm. This is to leave excess for the seams. In total, I'll cut 2 squares since I'm making the cover for 2 cushions.
When cutting the fabric for the covers, we have two options: either cut two identical squares and make the cushion insert on one edge, or cut one square and cut two slightly larger rectangles to place on the back of the cover. These rectangles should have approximately 4 cm extra to hem them and leave enough space to fit the cushion inside. I'll do them this way.
Para el siguiente paso vamos a cortar la forma de hojas en las telas de colores, para esto coloqué las tres telas juntas, me gustó mucho ya que las tres son tonos diferentes de verde, para guiarme dibuje las hojas en un pedazo de hoja blanca corté y luego coloqué sobre mi tela para cortar y hacer varios modelos de hojas, a cada cojín le colocaré los diferentes tonos.
For the next step we are going to cut the shape of leaves in the colored fabrics, for this I placed the three fabrics together, I liked it a lot since the three are different shades of green, to guide me I drew the leaves on a piece of white sheet that I cut and then placed on my fabric to cut and make several models of leaves, I will place the different shades on each cushion.

Ahora nos vamos a nuestra máquina de coser, vamos a ubicar primero la cinta de Razo, le vamos dando la forma como si fueran ramas, vamos colocando la cinta en la posición que queremos y le pasamos una costura por la orilla , luego doblamos la cinta y volvemos a pasar costura para que nos quede más delgada, cada funda le haré formas diferentes, a una le haré ramas como saliendo de la parte de abajo y a la otra le haré las ramas como si cayeran por la parte de arriba en una de las esquinas.
Now we go to our sewing machine, we will first place the Satin ribbon, we will give it the shape as if they were branches, we will place the ribbon in the position we want and we will sew along the edge, then we fold the ribbon and we will sew again so that it is thinner, each cover I will make different shapes, in one I will make branches as if coming out of the bottom and in the other I will make the branches as if they were falling from the top in one of the corners.

A las hojas le vamos a colocar entre tela o perlon con pega de ese que pegamos con la plancha, esto hará que sean más firmes a la hora de pasarles costura, le daremos la forma más parecida a una hoja lo mejor de todo esto es que no es necesario que nos queden perfectas, al contrario, de la imperfección se ve más la belleza.
Colocaremos cada hoja en la posición que más nos guste, yo voy a colocar las tres hojas grandes en la funda que lleva tres ramas y le colocaré algunas pequeñas a los lados para decorar haciendo juego con los colores, debe quedar lindo haciéndolo también con los colores del otoño, ya es a gusto de cada quien o de la disponibilidad de telas que tengas a la mano.
We'll place the leaves between fabric or Perlon with the kind we iron on. This will make them more durable when sewing. We'll give them a shape that resembles a leaf. The best part is that they don't have to be perfect; on the contrary, imperfections reveal their beauty.
We'll place each leaf in the position we like best. I'll place the three large leaves in the bag with three branches and add some small ones on the sides to decorate, matching the colors. It should look nice with the fall colors, depending on your preference or the availability of fabrics you have on hand.

Luego de hacer la decoración de hojas en la tela cuadrada de la funda, vamos a hacerle ruedo en la orilla de los dos retazos rectangulares y unimos al cuadrado, a mí me gusta dejarlo en forma vertical en la parte de atrás de los cojines, luego de pasar costura por todo el alrededor colocamos nuestros cojines dentro de la funda y así ya están listos estas hermosas fundas con decoración de hojas, espero les haya gustado .
After making the leaf decoration on the square fabric of the cover, we are going to hem the edge of the two rectangular scraps and join them to the square. I like to leave it vertically on the back of the cushions. After sewing all the way around, we place our cushions inside the cover and that's how these beautiful covers with leaf decoration are ready. I hope you liked them.
