El proyecto que les traigo hoy es muy parecido a uno que les presenté hace un poco más de un mes. El cielo de Marcelo gustó tanto, que su primo de solo 4 añitos también quiso uno. A diferencia de aquel, que era de PVC, este será completamente de cartón. Me encanta trabajar con ese versátil material.
Mathías, así se llama mi nuevo cliente, es fanático de los aviones y quería que su cielo tuviese alguno. Para complaserlo hice un pequeño cambio en el diseño inicial, cambié las estrellas por dos de ellos.
Le encantó su nombre con aviones y sobre todo el helicóptero rojo, es su color favorito. Bonita coincidencia, pues lo hice sin saber ese detalle.

The project I bring you today is very similar to one I presented to you a little over a month ago. Marcelo's sky liked it so much that his 4 year old cousin also wanted one. Unlike that one, which was made of PVC, this one will be made entirely of cardboard. I love working with this versatile material.
Mathías, that's the name of my new client, is a fan of airplanes and wanted his sky to have one. To please him I made a small change in the initial design, I changed the stars for two of them.
He loved his name with airplanes and especially the red helicopter, that's his favorite color. Nice coincidence, because I did it without knowing that detail.
I leave here the list of materials and the step by step of my creative process. I hope you like it and I hope it inspires you.
Necesitaré:
- Cartón corrugado
- Papel manufacturado
- Papel blanco reutilizado
- Pegamento
- Moldes
- Tijera
- Cúter
- Regla
- Pintura acrílica (blanco, azul claro y rojo)
- Barniz transparente
- Pinceles
- Cinta adhesiva doble cara
I will need:
- Corrugated cardboard
- Manufactured paper
- Reused white paper
- Glue
- Molds
- Scissors
- Cutter
- Ruler
- Acrylic paint (white, light blue and red)
- Transparent varnish
- Brushes
- Double-sided adhesive tape
Primeramente forraré el cartón. Distribuiré una capa generosa de pegamento en la cara posterior y cubriré con papel blanco reutilizado. Haré lo mismo en la otra, pero la cubriré con papel artesanal.
First I will line the cardboard. I will spread a generous layer of glue on the back side and cover it with reused white paper. I will do the same on the other side, but I will cover it with craft paper.
Con la ayuda de los moldes marcaré y calaré el nombre y los elementos decorativos que lo acompañan.
With the help of the molds, I will mark and trace the name and the accompanying decorative elements.
Con tiras de papel manufacturado previamente cortadas cubriré los bordes expuestos del cartón.
With pre-cut strips of manufactured paper I will cover the exposed edges of the cardboard.
Con todo forrado pintaré cada pieza del color escogido. Azul claro para el nombre y un avión, el otro será rojo. Las nubes serán blancas matizadas en azul. Finalmente daré una mano de barniz transparente y pondré cinta doble contacto por detrás. De esa manera quedará listo.
With everything lined I will paint each piece in the chosen color. Light blue for the name and one plane, the other will be red. The clouds will be white shaded in blue. Finally I will give a coat of clear varnish and put double-sided tape on the back. That way it will be ready.
