Diy process of how I cut and sew a dress and a matching Turban cap for myself

Hello, creative community

I'm excited to share with you all my first post in the community this year. I hope that we are all doing well and enjoying the new year. May we all find life easy throughout the year, and may all our dreams, visions, and goals come into fulfillment.

Well, I decided to share my blog in the community today to mingle with everyone and make more friends. One of the things I wish to do this year is to add more friends to my network, and I can do so very easily on Hive by visiting the community and getting acquainted with everyone. While I have been active in only a few communities in Hive, I wish to expand my horizons.

Today I want to share with us the making process of my dress and a matching turban cap.

The dress was finally a dream come true for me, as I had wanted a dress of this design for long.
It was one of the projects I had embarked on to close the year, but I couldn't complete it so that I could rock it out; besides, it didn't have a hair cover, and I couldn't wear it yet. But today I can finally rock this beautiful piece.

The dress is a wrap dress, which I had cut the back bodice first.

Then I used that to cut the front bodies.

And then I had cut a lining, which I had pleated my fabrics on to give me a two-step design.
Next I joined the bodice and the zipper before sewing an exaggerated sleeve on it.

When these were completed, I started working with every piece of the fabric that was remaining in order to sew a matching turban cap for myself.
Here I had joined every little piece of the fabric remaining, and then I had cut a flare out of it.

Then I began to sew that on my electrical machine. It was quite a challenge sewing the fabric as it is slippery and keeps resisting the needle. It was getting really frustrating, the needing to pass through the fabric. There and then a thought came to my mind, and I added some machine oil to the fabric all round where I would be stitching it; that solved the puzzle, and now I'm sharing the secret with the community.

Next I had used a needle and sewing thread to gather the fabric and form the turban cap shape. In order to give it a neat finishing, I got more of the fabric and sewed a rose to attach to the center of the rough edges of the cap.

And then a decorative button making it colorful right there.

After this was done, I stayed and started a selfie right in my room before I took a shower and then wore my complete set of the outfit.

Not having a camera stand or someone to snap me is always a challenge, and I hope that y'all can bear with the selfies.

I love the outfit so much as it added more color and life to my face. I hope that you all like my dress as much as I do.
